It's $50 for one of these bulbs. They just seem too good to be true. Or have I stumbled onto the perfect CFL? This KEDSUM 200w CFL profits the latest IC (integrated circuit) IR2520D of the American International Rectifier Company. It has protective system against abnormal voltage and extremely temperature and <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in">Preheating start system minimize damage, prolongs operation life more than one year. <LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in">Frequency sweep check system insure bulb always work in the best condition. <o></o><LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in">Flicker-free, humming sound –free. <o></o><LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in">100% PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) in correct Spectrum for plants. <o></o><LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in">Low heat generation, energy saving, can be placed close to plants. <o></o><LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in">High lumen output -12000 lumens per lamp. <o></o> Self ballasting, 110/120 v 50/60 Hz. I don't see the one you mention on ebay... but this looks nice (however still not that cheap for dang bulbs). http://cgi.ebay.com/6400-K-CFL-FLUO...ryZ42225QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
yes, however, that one uses a mogul base. The one I mentioned a medium base could be added for an additional 1.99. I dunno it just seems too good to be true.
My friend's brother has the same one in two posts up, it works GREAT, he has 12 plants growing nicely off of it.
Considering that a 250w HPS can deliver upwards of 35,000 lumens (140 lumens/watt) and this CFL consumes 200w and delivers 12,000 lumens (60 lumens/watt), I think you would be much better off with the HPS at only a little more wattage and get a MH conversion bulb for vegging. And FireMonkey, 12 plants off of 12,000 lumens? Maybe when they are 2-3 weeks old, but they will need more light than that when they stretch their legs.
