CFL lights

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by TMCCViking, Jun 1, 2018.

  1. I've purchased 2 x 85w 6500k cfls and 2 x 65w 2700k cfls. Will these be good for a beginner small grow? (2-4 plants max)

  5. Few seeds of Wet Dream. Purchased a good batch of amazing weed and it was kind enough to give me a few seeds. Has white widow genetics but forgot what it is crossed with. Im personally thinking of doing some LST. Maybe the tie down method

  6. You'll be lucky to grow one small plant with that lighting. What's the actual power draw on those bulbs? Good luck.

    Thats the true wattage

  8. you will be best just growing one under the lighting that you have listed.

  9. you can grow with those lights. i did. they work. you won't get the size and weight if u used bigger lights but u know that. the potency should be there though.

  10. Yeah just want to have some fun growing my own personal batch to smoke. I want to squeeze it for every gram i can get but dont want to shell out basically the same amount of money it would cost me to buy a batch on all the ins and outs

ere is the chance of males tho. So im thinking to start with germinating 4 and vegging till preflower so i can determine males from females and pull em out. Hopefully atleast onr is female. But if 2 or 3 or all 4 are then i will have to work with it...

  12. Also i have a 12w led grow light but dont know if that would help at all. You know the kind with blue lights and 2 different spectrums of red lights?

  13. yea use the LED light as well blue spec for veg and have the red on as well when you flower ,,,keep the plants low by tying the stems down ,,and you'll getr some bud ,,it may not be a lot of bud ,but its what youve grown yourself ,,and maybe later you'll get some better lighting ,,,Luck with your grow ,,,mac,,

  14. watch your plants under that 12 watt led. i had one too, maybe not the same, but when i took a look at the plant in normal light, i saw all kinds of weird patches on my leaves. put them back under t5's and it went away. i know my light was hurting the plant in some way. just not sure how. i am running a different led now and things are just crazy good, lol.

  15. Any pics man?

  16. Here is my girl, 31/2 weeks into flowering. i need to take some normal light shots, lol.

  18. I sure will. Im kind of skeptical of the 12w led. I would have to keep it farther away than the cfls and worry that the cfl light will drown out the led. Also, i've read reports that leds tend to burn if to close and also harden the plant which, if it does, would make it difficult for the plant to absorb the softer cfl light. Idk tho. Im not expert

  19. i'm using a Yea Tek 300w LED. a cheapo in my opinion but it is working fantastic. it has alot of red, lol. i vegged with 2 18 watt t5's and 1 100 watt cfl. vegged awesome. then flipped the light and whoa. it stretched, lol. the pics are all in order of growth. no, not my first. can't say cut off date, not sure when that will be. i cut when things look right, like trichomes are cloudy/ amber, smell, appearance. probably end of june or earlier maybe.
