I have just decided that i am going to use CFL light for my first grow. I know tons of people have already asked question about these, but to the people who use these to grow... Is there anything that i should know about these? Do's and Dont's, any tips you can offer would be great. Also any links or advice you could give about how far i should space the lights from my plants would be great. I have read alot of stuff about that but i don't know if it is the same for CFL's, because my understand is these do not give off alot of light. peace
If youre gonna be using cfl's then keep em as close to the plant as possible without burning em! Bout 1" is good, use as much wattage as u can fit in your box too! They are not inferior to tube floro's in anyway, they use electronic ballasts instead of electromagnetic ballasts and have a higher intensity since they have less tube area! For micro grows they are perfect! Thats bout it really, just keep em as close as u can all the time and youll get results! p.s. u can get em closer than 1" if u get a fan blowing across em too!
