CFL light info please

  1. I'm using 6500k CFL's for veg and 2700k for flower ( haven't started flowering) I'm in a very small space and all seems to be going well so far

Do any of you more experienced growers have anymore input on the subject?

I'd like more info on spectrums of light. I'm only familiar with the 6500k and the 2700k (reg CFL's) that I'm using.... I've been under the impression that anything else is a waste of energy.... True? What's the best for the little ladies?

  2. I've been using cfls for my grows and they work great! Keep them within 6 inches of the plant and mix the 6500k and the 2700k. I have had two harvests so far and I have yielded 8oz. Good luck!

  3. If it ain't broke don't fix it :) metal halide are around 4200k and high pressure sodium are around 2900k. 6500k is optimal for veg and 2700k is perfect for flower so you are good to go. I use a 6500k t5 for veg and a HPS for flower. Some swear by metal halide for veg, but my plants tell me they like the 6500k fluorescent t5 better :)

  4. Wow this is great info thank you. Should I be using the same 6500k - 2700k ratio for veg and flower if I am to mix them up? Should I go all 6500k for veg and all 2700k for flower?

  5. I would stick with 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower. Some people do mixed spectrum for flower meaning both, but I've never done it so I can't comment on how well it works.

  6. Awesome, thanx. I suppose I can save the experimentation for later
