I got a apartment which is perty much a chill spot for the guys at night. So i have alot of empty space and closets i can make use of. Money isnt really a object however i just want to buy a small tent from ebay and get started... however i have 2 main questions. first if i use the CFL lights do those generate enough heat for authoritys to notice via flybys? Second... are LEDS and CFLS comparable when it comes to electricity usage? Last i remember cfl lights didnt really use alot of power but im not exactly sure. Can anyone help a newbie out?
If money is no object, I would personally grow with HIDs and not CFLs. However, to answer your questions... I wouldn't worry too much about 'flybys'. I would be more concerned about smell in the apartment building. So make sure you ventilate well. Especially in flowering. I have never grown with LEDs, but CFLs don't use any more electricity than a regular lightbulb. In fact, they are supposed to use less. Good luck.
