So I'm growing indoors..cfl everything seems to be going good but I noticed this morning that the leaf at the bottom kinda looks like its rotting? It got smaller and turned slightly yellow..does this mean my plant is going to die, what can I do to fix this in time? This is my first time growing. Help
If the rest of your plant looks healthy then I wouldn't worry too much. Pics would help me get a better idea, but all plants start losing the lower branches as the plant matures...just like the leaves will start falling off, yellowing, etc. This would be normal for a plant that's been in veg for awhile or flower....again pics if you can and I can let you know if I'm right, haha, later man
OK, the two small round leaves and single bladed leaves will naturaly die off. Shortly after that your plants will soon be ready for their first nute feeding, preferably at a weaker strength then what the nute manufacturer reccomends. What kind of soil are you using and did you check out the PH thread. This is around the time that you need to start keeping the PH in a good range.
at the moment im using garden soil, due to the fact that i didnt have money at the time to buy potting soil. i will visit home depot or walmart asap and get some fox farm or any other potting soil they have available.
Niether carry any soil that I would use. Some Home Depots carry ProMix which I heard is pretty good. What do you plan on using for nutes? If you got any hydro stores near you that would have a far better selection. Soils that have time release nutes in them can give you a hard time controlling the PH. PH is really important for a plants over health.
I'm a noob clearly lol, can you explain what PH means or is? And I'm not sure about nutes, do you know what i should use? I hear some people mix molasses with soil and show good results?
Check out the link below for info on PH. As for nutes the only ones thatlike Home Depot or Lowes carrys that I would use is Alaska Fish Emulsions but I only use that on outdoor grows. The veg formula smell bad and would not use it indoors, the bloom doesnt smell bad. There are alot of good organic and chemical based nutes on the market and most can be found on Amazon or at a local hydro store. If you have a local nursery you might be able to find some better soil there. On Amazon you can also get a basic digital PH meter for aorund $15-$25.00 and you would also need some calibration solution and some PH Up & Down solutions. As for molasses alot of growers use unsuplhered molasses 1 tbsp per gallon of water and water or feed with it. In flowering I double it. It feeds both the plant and beneficial microbes in the soil.
I'll look into any nurseries, and on amazon for that basic digital PH meter. And wait..do I the molasses in the soil? or in the water THEN pour it onto the soil? And from the looks of the plant in the pics can you tell weather its going to be male or female? Or do I have to wait it out..cause I have seen photos of plants during early stages of growth and the leaves look much thicker and closer to each other. Then again, it could just be the strain? What do you think...any help is appreciated bro! Thank you!!
Your gonna have to wait a while to determine sex. Molasses you add 1tbsp to 1 gallon of water then water the plant.
