What you save in electricity will never make up for yield lost. Not meaning to been funny but I know someone who ran clones for years 12/12 flower then did 10/14 cos he thought it wouldnt look as dodgy to the power company and his yield went down quite a bit and thats ten hour not 8. Also I would feel safer with a 1000w hid in the shed than all them cfls and wires you got more balls than me I would be shitting it incase the shed went up in flames. lol.
Well so far based on looks alone all the plants and buds are much bigger and nicer looking specially the tops. my plants are roughly half he size as prior grows but as far as yield goes its like about the same rite now and i still have 2 weeks left but i wont know for surely till all plants are in dried and weighed tho i must say after growing 4-5ft tall plants and now growin 2ft plants im keeping them puppies smaller. ***** A good organic growing habbit if you buy the dirt from anywhere is to bake it in the oven at 350 for 30-35min to kill any and all things living in there "bugs n pests"***** All in all tho so far buds are nicer looking and bigger to the current day i really think ill yield jus as much if not more in almost 40%faster time and quite a bit cheaper on the electricity but the numbers will tell the truth One G13 pending trich check should be done the last week of jan to first few days of feb and if thats so itll be a total of 38-45 days flowering with preflower included i put it in the flower room from the veg room on dec 18th 2012 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i would agree with you but unlike 95% of all humanity i actually like testing things for myself not jus read in a post or a book. The best way to learn is to try and so far im my opinion it seems to be jus as good except the fact its costing me alot less and its being done faster jus sayin but ill kno in time for sure what do i got to lose by trying i figure its a lil more proactive then jus assuming. most people prolly dont try 8/16 lights caus of fear of whatever lose of yield lack of strength whatever but i wanna kno and shortly i will so i guess if you dont ever try u wont ever really kno
Ok so far ive cut and dried one of my 5 current plants and on the 8/16 hour time and had the exact same yield and it is jus as potent. 20g now keep in mind it doesnt sound like alot but take into consideration i can grow 16 plants per meter squared at the height and size i jus grew that one and thats my next move to have 16 plants per meter sq and u multiply 20x16 thats getcha 320g per meter sq also keep in mind i dont sell it nor want to this is all for me i smoke quite a bit lol i have my card i jus didnt have the money to spend for hid lights so i jus spent like 25 a week for a few weeks and with a entire investment of $125 i have 2 rooms that can produce the numbers above sad to say tho i usually run out inbetween lol. Start to finsh tho that harvested plant was cut on 10-28-2012 and is dried smokeable curing today and in 9 more days the remaining 4 will come down and the next 5 go in lol new clones already cut. Got 12 in rooting process and 4 more a day out from being cut and cloned. After taxes tho i will upgrade to a 1000w hid so the next harvest will show either a huge improvement in yield or stay the same. im pretty sure it will be alot higher and hope but time will tell for sure
ok well all 5 plants are down its all weighed and it was 1g short of my last harvest "was on 12 and 12" these current 5 that came down were on a 9 on 15 off lighting. sorry about no pics pothead= times of laziness lol anywho with my changes of light timing and plant size i lost no yeild or strenght last harvest i had 5 plants 4ft tall on the exact same lights jus spread out this harvest i shortened the plants to 2ft and reduced flower time to 9hr on and 15hr off same harvest amount and strength if not a little better now i will have a 1000w hid up and running in the next week and we will see the increase in yield i have the same 5 plants same height in the room once the light is in and that will determine how good cfls are compared to hid that being said i should see at least 150g between the 5 since my last 2 harvest were 100g but according to the jive on the web i should se something like 2-300g we will surely see in time keep posted
I use 5 of these in my mini grow but they are 2700K for flowering. That is for two small but buddly plants. I keep em less than two inches from top of plants.
well i would say it all depends on your room size and lumen per sqft i would rec a min of 4000 lumens per sqft so lets say your room is 10sqft you would want at least 40000 total lumens in the room so if thoes lights are about 3500 lumens per bulb you will want 10-11 for a 10sqft room. now if your room is like 15-20sqft you will want 60-80000 lumens total. I have 436 100w 23w rated at 1600 lumens per bulb at 2700k in a 12sqft area and thats 57600 total lumens and 4800 lumens per sqft also keep in mind the 5 plants i grew were and are more testing and tuning plants the cfls are coming down for the hid 1000w dimmable hps light and that will give me 125000 total lumens and a lumen per sqft of 10416 so i surely hope i triple my yield you would think so at least ill deff letcha kno it will be up this coming friday and running
ok sry havent posted on here ina while been busy building cloners upgrading my light and hitting the casino haha anywho like i said i upgraded my light to a ipower 1000w hid hps with dimming it was 5 days late on this crop so it will only get 45 outt 50 days hps but shouldnt make a difference at all. I also coughed up $28 bout some pvc a submersible pump a bucket and sprayers and made a cloner wise investment btw (cut 11 clones 9 days ago and all but 2 are already rooted and other 2 will be done ina few days) anywho heres some pics and ill keep yall posted how the difference is from cfls to hid hps. rite now i have a avg of 20g per plant with the cfls at 56000 lumens 2700k on 9/15. now I have 140000 lumens 2100k on 9/15 triple the power hoping at least double the yield triple would be nice
On a updated side note the cloner is working amazing all clones are rooted and have new growth and the buds are looking good so far in 3 weeks i will know if the hps gave more than the cfls tick tock lol
