I have had trouble finding fixtures that can hold multiple CFL lights... I currently have a 400W HPS($120 from HTGsupply) that is rated at 55,000 lumens and a 22.5 sq ft grow area... I am thinking of adding a few warm and cool 26w CFLs(maybe 2 of each) to add a little extra light but I cannot find a fixture for them at local stores. I want something that can plug into the wall as opposed to me having to wire anything... any ideas? or does anyone know of any that need to be wired that can be wired easily(anything without having to connect to wall power supply... like a transformer and connecting the wires)? -Green
Home Depot sure as hell doesn't. I've been looking for stores in my area for them, can't find it! Check out this one: http://www.homeharvest.com/fluorescentfixturesstd.htm
I have learned that some suggest buying some of those clamp lights what look like they have a big silver bowl around them. You can then either use a CFL in that or take the dome off and put a Y splitter and two CFLs in the same light... I hear you can get these clamp lights for $5-$6... try walmart or homedepot or lowes..
Wal-Mart has some cheap and nice ($5) light fixtures. They are made for incandescant but work great with CFL's, and they come with clamps and reflectors. Maybe consider have two of those, each with a Y splitter in it. Then you'd only be using two outlets, but you'd have 4 lights running . You could rig up a hanger of some sort, maybe just a metal bar dangling from rope which is attached to the ceiling. Just some ideas
you could get a clamp light, or wal mart has sockets that plug directly into an outlet called plug in outlet adapter $1.30 a piece.
what i did was buy the little sockets for light bulbs that plug right into a power strip..there only like 1.50 each at home depot..they got a bunch of different things so you can split it into two sockets also
