Hello everyone, I just had a couple quick CFL questions... I was wondering if there is some kind of unsafe fire risk with using CFLs (45w) in plain desk lamp fixtures, or little the lamps with clamps (even though incandescent equivalent of the cfl is over recommended max wattage for the lamp)...or if any fixture is alright to use with CFLs... ...are there are some fixtures you recommend over others? i don't want to burn down my landlords house, if that's somehow possible On a related note, Are CFL's more of a money/energy saver than the plain cool white fluoro tubes, in general, given equal wattage and such? i've been running a couple 4' cool white fluoro tubes along with a couple small cfl's lighting the insides of three, two month old LST'd plants, but i'm considering just dropping the tubes, since most of the light from the four foot tubes are wasted anyways (I've got the three plants in a sort of triangulish-circle formation), and picking up a couple more high wattage cfls to light the canopies of the plants instead... I'm staying cfl in this case due to lack of funding... thoughts? suggestions? answers? Thank you all for your time and wisdom, human stoned
