  1. Source
This was tonight's lead story on Rachel Maddow:
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgJqF6wWST8]YouTube - 2009 Sept 23 Maddow - Census Worker Hanged[/ame]
Again, allegedly, a census worker was hanged in Kentucky with the word "fed" written on him. So, apparently, we're beyond people simply saying "Boo government" and we've reached the "kill government workers" level.
    1) How fucked up is this?
    2) What does it say about anti-government sentiment?
    3) How will this impact the national debate?
    4) Is Michelle Bachman's anti-census bullshit partially to blame and, if so, is Michelle Bachman to blame?

  2. That's very strange to me.

I've heard/seen things like this; murder for a message?

Too barbaric for me. Although I am not opposed to violence if it came down to it, this is just disgusting. I think it was a senseless murder by someone who thinks they're doing something 'righteous.'

  3. No, this is not good. There will come a time when violence might be needed but this isn't it right now. Certainly violence against a Census worker is unjustified. I disagree with the Census because it invades privacy. What's wrong with just asking how many people live in your house? Why do they need everything else? But killing someone just because they are taking a Census is way overboard.

  4. If they cannot find an immediate culprit, chances are its a false flag, to try and demonize right wingers/patriots, yes our govt is that desperate and corrupt. But keep an open mind untill they find who did it.

  5. If we're going to kill government workers, it's useless to kill people like this. We NEED to kill the high ranking Wall Street bosses and people in government on a similar power level, so we can have a hopefull future. I know it sounds violent, and I hate violence but i'd LOVE to push a knife through any one of the high ranking government/Wall Street elete's faces and know i'm bettering mankinds future.

  6. Fuck the census. Fuck that guy... you can see it in his eyes that he was a good little order follower.

  7. Haha.

  8. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of... census workers?

    :hide:

  9. Yeah, census workers don't really deserve the brutality lol. If it were a federal agent I would be a little more excited.

  10. Census workers aren't even government employees, they're people that are hired privately. Plus the census is mandated by the constitution.

  11. Trying to say that Bachmann somehow incited this violence because she pointed out there was no citizenship query on the census survey is...

    laughable.

Some people really have no integrity, do they?

  12. The census in the constitution is a simple head count, far from what it is today.

  13. And the head count is the only part of the census you are obligated to fill out.

  14. This will probably be the first in a series of misguided murders, resulting in anyone opposing the fed to labeled a homeland terrorist.

  15. I'm gonna go with letsgetPOD's false flag theory instead to achieve the same ends you mention.

  16. Either works.

  17. What happened to spray painting cop cars and smashing windows? Killing simple working people isn't cool.

  18. I do not put anything past this govt, remember that story with the Jewish woman who found a swastika painted on her car, it turned out the feds did it, and the media immediatly speculated and subsequently blamed neo nazis/right wing extremists. Half of these extremist groups are infiltrated and funded by the FBI so the SPLC has someone to demonize.

  19. Says who? The American Community Survey is done every year now, not every 10 years, and asks for a lot more than number of persons in your household.

According to the US Census Bureau:

Respondents are required to answer all questions on the American Community Survey (ACS) to the best of their ability. Response to this and other Census surveys is required by law (Section 221 of Title 13, Chapter 7, United States Code). This chapter also contains information regarding offenses and possible penalties. According to Section 221, persons who do not respond shall be fined not more than $100. Title 18 U.S.C. Section 3571 and Section 3559, in effect amends Title 13 U.S.C. Section 221 by changing the fine for anyone over 18 years old who refuses or willfully neglects to complete the questionnaire or answer questions posed by census takers from a fine of not more than $100 to not more than $5,000

The 2010 Census will be shorter than the annual ACS, but there are still questions that go beyond the provided scope, such as race, income, etc.

It seems more like market research than a census.

  20. aye the census worker strayed into the wrong area with his GPS. That part of the Kentucky almosts produces as much pot as California and they booby trap the hell out of their crops. Coulda have been a pot grower bringing in his harvest and got nervous when he sees a "fed" mapping out his house.
