Ceiling Effect Early On

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by Blunt Ashez, Oct 25, 2012.

  1. I heard that after a while of smoking, any more weed won't get you much higher. I have noticed that this happens pretty early on? After you get high, any more you smoke doesn't really get you that much higher. It enhances the high a little bit I guess, and than the more you smoke just gets you more and more tired/fried. Than my head starts hurting later on. Anyone else get like this?

  2. It's pretty common. Once you're really high, most of the rest you smoke is wasted, IMO. The best way for me to get even higher is hitting new pieces, better weed, hash, etc.

  3. The most surefire way I've found to continue to get high with sessions subsequent to the first of the day is to mix it up a bit, perhaps by smoking in a different location than I did before. I have been rocked on many occasions by smoking up in a novel environment.

  4. Usually when I have the whole day to myself and smoke everytime I go down (which is like every like 1-2 hours) and I smoke throughout the whole day after like the 3rd bowl it starts feeling like every bowl you smoke after that doesnt get you any higher idk thats just me

  5. I stop smoking for a bit, enjoy the high then spark up 2 - 4 hours later

  6. I have gotten into the habit of cleaning my bong 3 times a week. Always feels like hitting a new piece and it gets me rocked.

  7. Your sessions are probably too close together. If I smoke every 4 hours my day will end up as your described, feeling tired and stuff. Now, if my sessions are atleast 6 hours apart this doesn't happen and I get completely baked every time. It's just a waste to keep sessions going back to back. It puts your tolerance through the roof and you end up smoking like twice the amount.

  8. cannabis is self titrating and everyone is different. people who need more medication need to use more. people who don't can get by with a very small amount and more doesn't help to increase any positives. if you fall in the second category and push it, problems arise lol

  9. Don't just keep smoking every hour, do a session then relax for 3-4 hours then smoke again, works great for me.

Tolerance breaks help greatly, I go on a month and off a month etc, makes that high so much better the first time.

  10. What I really like doing is smoking strictly Friday-Sunday, then taking the week off. So come the weekend I get blazed off my ass consistently. OP: If you continue smoking bowls (or taking hits) without pauses or breaks between, you'll notice that you keep getting exponentially higher. So instead of smoking a couple bowls outta the bong, then an hour/ hour and a half later smoking another, just smoke 3 bowls in a row. :bongin: You'll be jacked up, guaranteed. Then after that wears off (4-6 hrs later) hit it again. You know?

  11. Whenever me and the homies would get together for a smoke session, we'd usually have around 7-8 1g blunts passed around, and I'd find after the 4th/5th I was actually getting less high, and had a really heavy burnt out feeling.

Agreed. If I smoke in my house 2 weeks straight, and then go somewhere else, I feel way higher. It's all in your mindset I think

  13. Same here. Seems whenever I smoke at home I don't get that high anymore, but then whenever it's anywhere else, I get taken to a whole nother level.

  14. It all has to do with tolerance. There's 3 main different types of tolerances when dealing with drugs, the ones that are affected while dealing with THC is simply a.) the CB1/CB2 tire out tolerance, which is a basic tolerance. Your receptors are getting tired of being abused everyday therefore there's less to cling to, take a break and let the receptors refresh themselves. b.) mental tolerance. This is the one many people don't understand. Your brain will automatically try to stimulate and understand it's moods, even while under the influence of a substance. If you consistently smoke everyday, your body is getting adjusted to how the high feels and what to expect from it. Once your body can fully expect it's feelings, you'll have a mental tolerance. You can try and change it up, similar to how bodybuilders use muscle confusion to increase their gains once their bodies get adjusted to their program. Go to different locations to smoke, use different strains to get different highs, etc, don't allow your body to get adjusted and you'll be fine. Also, increase your omega-3 intake.
