Chronic Pain CBDA and Endometriosis

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Ol Joe, Oct 30, 2019.

  1. My DIL (30) went through a very rough patch with endometriosis with the accompanying pain. Long story short the doctors could do very little except for pain management. When she started to discuss a hysterectomy I decided to see if CBD would help. After much research and seeing that CBDA (raw form) was much more bioavailable then CBD I made up some caps with the raw herb. This was mostly from the Candida strain (Dinafem) which was purchased from a legal supplier with ~19% CBD. I currently use a home grown Candida of unknown percents.

I live in a federally regulated legal country so the Strain and percentages are valid.

I grind 5 grams of flower and divide that into 50 "00" caps which I fill with oil (whatever I have on hand). She was instructed to take 1 in the AM and then work up to point where she was comfortable. I also made up a chart for her to fill out on a daily basis to track mood, pain and anxiety.

    Results

She started on the pills in late May of this year. Her charts show a distinct decrease in pain starting about 5 days in. I monitored her on a weekly basis and we decided to up the dose to 1 AM and 1 Mid afternoon because she could feel her mood slipping at that point. Two weeks later we went up to 3 pills, Morning, Mid Afternoon and Night. Her chart shows a steady decline in pain and an increase in mood and a lessening of anxiety. Currently she is using 3 caps a day.

As of today she has almost no pain except for her cycles (it went from daily pain to a few days a month). She used to describe "laying on the couch crying" almost every night. She is not short tempered and seems to be on top of the world. Her specialist is bewildered of course. Also of note is that she declares "she will never go off these pills".

I am comfortable to declare this a win and I encourage anyone with Endo to consider CBDA.

  3. Thanks, it was pretty bad but she is a trooper.

  4. Hi Joe, Is your DIL taking her Omega 3? It can help in different ways. First off, Omega 3 is an anti-inflammatory. Less inflammation means less pain.

Secondly, some of our body's endocannabinoids are made from Omega 3. Since these endocannabinoids fight pain and inflammation by activating the CB2 receptors, they do their work without getting you high.

    n-3 polyunsaturated N-acylethanolamines are CB2 cannabinoid receptor-preferring endocannabinoids. (UK) (abst – 2019) n−3 polyunsaturated N-acylethanolamines are CB2 cannabinoid receptor-preferring endocannabinoids - ScienceDirect

And a third way Omega 3 helps is that it is necessary for a healthy, functioning endocannabinoid system! Seems the cannabinoid receptors don't get hooked up right unless you have some Omega 3 in your system! When the receptors aren't hooked up properly, they work about as good as a radio with a loose wire! :coolalt:

  5. I dont know if she does but I might just start using a decent oil like udos oil. I was thnking of it the other day so this is a good reminder so thanks. That way she would get some Omega 3's as well as the CBDA.

As an aside for anyone reading this thread I dont believe the CBDA had a pain relieving effect but rather that it balances the system and reduces the endo causing less pain.

  7. Hey Granny, I picked up some unrefined cold pressed hemp oil made in a prairie province. Wow, nice smell and a beautiful green colour. Going forward I will make my DIL caps with this oil, looks very nice. I might as well try it for my arthritis also.
    thanks
