CB-2 Receptor Specific Aroma Therapy

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Asthmatic, Nov 11, 2012.

  1. So I'm thinking about ß-caryophyllene again or maybe still. For the new folks or people who just haven't herd it is specific to the CB-2 receptor like it's better known and researched counterpart CBD.

Cannabis has lots of it but interestingly enough, a lot of other plants that are heavily used in aroma therapy have lots of it two. Most of the mint family which is just huge citrus, cloves, Cinnamon, the list goes on for miles. To my shame I've never given much credit to the believers in aroma therapy until I learned about ß-caryophyllene. Knowing it's a volatile terpinoid and a cannabinoid at the same time set me to thinking about vaping cannabis and that maybe there is more healing in aroma therapy than I had originally given it credit for. Any way I wanted to start a conversation about it with any one who knows or cares about the subject.

Here is a useful link to any one who wants to read up:

  2. I diffuse oils, but I would say I'm far from an aromatherapy expert.

I just kinda like the smell and I've heard the oils have anti-microbial properties (for cleaning the air inside my home of allergens/pathogens).

  3. You'd think there would be a few people on the board who are though wouldn't you?

  4. Spent last night learning about the cannabinoids in Echinacea root extracts. The list just keeps getting longer.
