Hay Jam here - Real weird / sad story but had to post to try to deal with it - Was out collectin sticks for makin pipes and walkin my cats Oliver and Fred, and out of nowhere 2 hawks swooped down and scooped up Oliver by his hind legs and flew off with him, and before I could pull Fred's leash closer, another twin hawk ( I think they were brothers ) came fluttering down and dug his talons into Fred's upper jaw bone and flew away with them - What should i do ? I released a few of my Falcons as retaliation into the forests where the Hawks dwell - Might need more - Also - Do hawks kill right away or do they keep their prey in the nest and wait til Later - There may be hope for Oliver and Fred? Help plz - Hope it doesnt happen 2 anyone else ~ Jam
I would not hold out hope for Oliver and Fred, hawks eat their prey immediately. As for the falcons I don't think they will really do much to the hawks since they are much smaller than the hawks and generally go after the same type of prey. I have alot of hawks here also and make a point of keeping Kitzi inside when the raptors are hunting. I am in an area that is clear so I can see the birds circling as they look for prey. Sounds like you were in a wooded area which gave the hawks one hell of an advantage as far as surprise is considered. You have my condolances for your loss.
That is a bummer man, sorry to hear about your loss. Im in a similar situation acually though, there are a few hawks in the woods by my parents house, my parents own a Miniature puddle and a jack russle terior (i suck at spell) We are afraid that the hawks might get them, anyone know a good way to get rid of a hawk?
Thought it was illegal to shoot hawks? This was my first thought too but there are some neighbors not to far from there house who are assholes, probally call the cops. I heard that if you feed a bird Alka seltzer it will explode, maybe I could put some Alka seltzer on the dogs and when it scoops down to get the dogs and eats them they will explode errrr wait a second I dont think my parents would go for that one. anyone got a good way to get a hawk to eat some Alka seltzer ?
You guys don't actually believe this kid... First, he hollows out a ferret and makes it into a bong. Next, he throws crawdads into a bong and claims the smoke is more dense and it gets him higher... then he takes a dead turtle and makes a hooka from the shell. Now, 2 hawks magically swoop down and fly away with his cats... which he is walking? Who the fuck walks cats?

you dont own falcons....i guarantee it....few things lead me to believe this: a)you seem to know nothing about hawks so the same thought goes thru my mind on falcons. b)you had your cats on leashes? thats odd...and how fred get swooped up if he was on a leash? No hawk on earth is strong enough to rip an animal out of its collar.. c)lol...twin hawks...nvm ...... d) hawks land in my yard all the time....i highly doubt they can pick up a cat....my cats try to kill em' (my cats are also bigger than these hawks) just average sized cats... e)highly unlikely that a hawk will stalk/attack prey within a few feet of a human...just wont happen.. f) falcons are much smaller than hawks where im from ...and anyone who owns falcons would know its pointless to send them out...what? did you train your falcons on retrieval or search and rescue? (if you did youd probably have knowledge on hawks eh?) im not trying to come down on you or anything.....and i suppose you COULD be telling the truth but the odds are definently against you....nothing personal but if something looks and smells like bs then it usually is...there are just too many flaws in that story.. good one though...and the cats , if a hawk could pick them up would be dead.. an eagle maybe....not a hawk

there is a noticeable difference in size between a cat anda rabbit. cats are larger than hawks...i dont think they physically possess the strength to carry something that weighs more than them. rabbits and kittens maybe.....cats onleashes...no i think somebody has sniffed a bit too much paint....ferret bongs? lol have you ever tried using buffalo penises for hookah hoses?lol.i bet you could plug oneinto the ferret's ass and itd work niceley
Hay guyz new to the forum, just sharin a new lil trick i tried. Im real into makin bongs outta stuff, just random kewl trinkets i find. However, today my favorite smoking pal, my ferret Jeff, passed away. Since he always loved it when i blew smoke into his face, I figured the best way to honor him and say goodbye would be to freeze him and hollow him out and smoke out of him. I did htis, and I swear i got higher just because of what I was smoking out of. Jeff only lasted for 20 minutes in the heated room So i quickly buried him next to my flowering Diesel plants.
