  1. i have to divide my closet in two parts, and dont have the tools to cut an exhast and intake or cutting in general on a wood type panel like at home depot, was thinking that cardboard could be a cheaper route, along w/ it being easier to cut, does anyone else have a set up like this? how will it affect the light? was gonna use that car window reflective stuff to cover it...........thanks for any input

  2. i used cardboard in the beginning, but always wrapped it in panda-foil as to keep em from getting moldy...
    also those car-windshield-covering thingies are great as reflectors for the walls and such, just watch out for the temps in general and reflective hot spots, so your plants don't burn up, but otherwise the stuff's great... :D

  3. if i get the wood panel material, will that get moldy as well? i dont know if cardboard if sturdy enough.....+ home depot cuts for free i found out, all i gotta do is find a way to cut circles in em....

  4. You can use cardboard but I strongly advise against it.

    Why cardboard is bad:

    -Wet --> moldy
    -falls apart over time
    -Big time fire hazard
    -better materials for better prices. I would go to Craigslist dot com and look under their free section. I always fine people throwing away an old pieces of wood which is amazing for growing. Like drawers or shelf's then just but a back of it

    But if you are just going to be using CFL's cardboard works I just feel there is better material

  5. Add to that:

    You can see a flashlight through some cardboard, so it's not always 100% light proof
