  1. Has anyone here made soap? Soap is made from carboxylic acid. We use sodium hydroxide, NaOH, which reacts with the oils and forms soap. EG olive oil + NaOH -> sodium olivate (a soap)
I began thinking, well, the natural form in the plant is a carboxylic acid too. So, perhaps NaOH could be used instead of heat to decarb herb. I've added it to other herbs so I know what'll happen, it will turn black.
Eating soap is not appealing so obv, you might consider neutralising it by (eg) using citric acid. With soap though, you find this fails. The reaction is reversible and the soap turns into a slimy mess of water and free fatty acids. I suspect this would happen to weed too.
