Carbon filter

  1. Does anyone have any pictures a carbon filter system just setup on the floor? Not hanging

  2. I don't have pictures...but I can tell you they will sit flat as there's no intakes on the very "bottom" of one. I had one upright before, with an inline fan connected to that, and then venting to the port.

  3. No, heat rises. You want it at the top.

  4. Not sure to be honest. I wouldn't say significantly better or worse.
If it's in a tent, then any difference would be fairly small I'd say...I mean I've smoked a joint in a room and sat a carbon filter upright on a table like 5 metres away and that room was clear of smell somke 5 minutes after we'd had the joint. They're an amazing product.
I'd say if anything, up higher MAY be better...but on the floor, just fine.

  5. If you have concerns with heat.........I agree with weedhead1..........if you don't..........top OR bottom is fine....IMO.

You don't have a way to tone back the power I take it huh?

  7. That's the way I run mine. Filter on floor, fan on top of filter. That is the best way and should always be done that way unless floor space is more valuable. I learned it from the hydro shop. These carbon filters work best with the best air going in. The best air is down low. That is also the best air to blow for ventilation as opposed to blowing air up above the canopy. I don't even duct my fans out of the tent or room. Ducting only works if you can duct it outside. Some say ducting quiets, but ducting reduces flow requiring more fan cfm which makes more noise.

  8. I push.. ducting located at top side ports. Cheap, heavy fan an filter so there’s no way I could hang it. But it’s working lol

  10. It has a built in speed control but even as low as it goes seems very powerful but I never had 1. I'm going to play with it after the weekend when the family is gone. Shit makes me paranoid right now

  11. But if I wanted to I could do on the floor like your saying but have ducting to the tent pulling the smell out couldn't I?

  13. The smell is only reduced if the ducting vents outside of the room. If not, it is better to let it recirculate over and over in the tent. That is how I do it and it is very easy for me to test if venting into the room is better. If you can vent to an area where smell is not an issue, that is the best. Otherwise, recirculating beats blowing once filtered air out.

  14. Weird, I had a huge carbon filter setup and my whole house reeked like weed. Yet pp says they smoke a J near there's and it's clear within 5. Why

  15. Couple possibilities being drawing air to fast through the filter, not a premium filter.

I know for myself doing a single pass through a filter wasn't neer enough to rid the smell completely but the filter and feeding the exhaust out the chimney took care of that...,although I stopped growing before I had the resources to upgrade the filter, if I hadn't of stopped I would of probably done a two filter setup before the chimney

  16. I run ifilter(amazon/ebay) very generic, plus extra prefilter, lasts about 18 months in prime flowering area, then another 18 months in the veg/drying tent. I usually buy a filter, a prefilter, and a Bluelab ph pen every 18 months.

  17. think of it like a de humidifier, if you have the dehumidifier fan on high it takes all day to bring down the humidity, but if you turn it to low, you can have buckets of water in a matter of hours.......

  18. Really? Wow. Maybe it was too fast of a suction from my 440cfm...
