Ok so I know ur supposed to hook the filter up to the intake part on the fan. But my situation doesn't allow that. But what if I put it on the end of the exhaust duct under my house? I'm not worried about the smell so much inside as I am outside of the house. Any device or tips?
several do work both ways which is a sign of a good fan. the intake side is actually the side that is hardest on the fan motor as apposed to the exhaust side which is easier on the fan motor. restricting the intake on most fans and pumps will burn them up pretty quick.
Filters have different sized meshes on either side of the charcoal. Intake side =larger mesh Exhaust side =smaller mesh. If you reverse this flow. You could blow media out of your filter. But alas. You gotta do what you gotta do. And if that's the only way to eliminate your stink albeit not ideal, I'd say go for it.
