  1. jst got a nice tax return :hello: looking for my first own car.
    - $4k budget
    - coupe (want to put rims and subs in the back)
    - gas mileage cant be too horrible (17/20 mpg ok)
    - has to be a reliable bcus i have school

noticed that a lot of early 2000's V6 mustangs and camaros were on sale for that much any advice on those models in terms of reliability and maintenance

    any suggestions or advice?
    any certain cars to avoid?

    Thanks in advance

  2. You can get the best prices purchasing a used car from the owner vs. a dealer.
Dealers arent bad though - sometimes a used car will come with a warranty. I've gotten two cars off ebay before. It's a pretty legit place to buy cars - just be careful if someone wants the cash up front without handing you over the car keys.

Do you have a gear head friend that can inspect the car for you?

Get something you love; life is too short to drive lame cars!

forget all of these previous comments..

    lol

I sold my 2004 honda civic value couple for 5400 the 8 months ago. 150k miles.

Coming from an automotive technician... that was hard as fawk to part with.

If i were you, I would buy something as similar to this as you can find. I realize that's a G or two more than your budget but take out a small car loan bro.

I suspect a few others, "who love their hondas" will second this post...

My past believe was something like a honda was only good for motorcycles and atvs.... :p

For 4k, its hard to say mang. It sounds like you are not very mechanically inclined... where as me on the other hand if i had 4 g's to spend i'd look at 20 vehicles in the thrify nickel and pick the best noticing everything about it instantly.

Honda, toyota, Subaru... are all brands that come to mind for compact sedans in your price range... domestic vehicles are geared towards the v8 and gettin american shiat done.. construction,farm...

Ford makes a few good sedans. I would never buy a tauraus, the escorts are a good car. My cousin drove his chevy cavalier forever.. dodge's suck.

  4. oh and ps, a v6 mustang or camaro is bitch status.. no offense :)

If it doesn't have 4 cylinders on one bank, it's hard for me to consider it an engine :p

  5. jeeps hondas and toyotas for that price range

  6. forget jeep

    Don't fuck up

    Older Chryslers are quite good

  9. Ask a knowledgable and TRUSTWORTHY mechanic for his advice and then pay him to check it out.

  10. VW Jetta 1.8T for around $2K and the rest is up to you.
