Capitalism dead?

  1. Has capitalism finally died? Terrible economy for 20 years and a near depression since 2008 with the big banks getting off with tanking the economy and creating the crash.

  2. nope.... as long as there are people in the world and they want to trade with eachother, capitalism will probably exist in one form or another, economic depressions notwithstanding.

  3. seems like its become more of a plutocracy than anything

  4. There will come a point where society will have to compensate its citizens for the structural unemployment caused by exponentially rising automation.

Capitalism in an on itself will continue operating as usual, but it will have to integrate greater wealth redistribution as time goes by.

  5. seems that the lack of accountability and inequality in wealth and resources will destroy itself. already outsourcing and banking with other countries. its just not a sustainable long term economic policy

  6. Capitalism isn't the problem Crony-Capitalism is the problem it kills competition and puts the Government and Corporations together to screw over and milk the people. Just my perspective .

  7. Capitalism? Dead? huehuehuehue

  8. well it's not like capitalism ever worked in any way morally

  9. or in practice at all

  10. It kind of worked in practice in the beginning for the people in the imperialist nations (when the market wasn't sursaturated by huge ass corporations), cause someone with a good idea COULD make it happen with the average salary the middle class had but now... The market will break you

  11. no its set to fail with a reserve of unemployed people making little money for a reserve job force. it structures in poverty and inequality

  12. This is my opinion:

I think there are a lot of fantastic ideas and models that should be followed in capitalism. There are also a lot of unintended consequences of unchecked capitalism. The same can be said about socialism, etc. There is a lot of good and and there is a lot of bad from every political agenda.

The problem is how to pick out the good from the bad, and how to implement those good things and minimize the bad.

I don't have an answer for this. I continue to seek that answer. And the answer is probably a moving target depending on the era and location. But part of getting to this answer is not ascribing to any one "religion" (aka political dogma), whether it be republican, democrat, libertarian, socialist, etc. My goal is to be happy living among the most number of happy people possible. Like I said, I don't know how to get there but I suspect it's via some blend of all political philosophies.

  13. Capitalism is what makes the world go around. It will never go away.
    Look at the black market

  14. don't think so, its already in its death rattle and slowly paving the way to a better system

  15. Like what? Theft and greed, aka socialism?

  16. no that would be capitalism

  17. Like what? A trading and barter system? I think capitalism will evolve.
How do you think the new and better system would be?
What are some of the things you would do to make a better system?
    Now you got me wondering...
