Can't vent and have heat issues

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Scurvy, Oct 2, 2007.

  1. Well, I've got a heat problem. I'm growing in a closet that's 2x4x9. The thing is, I can't cut any hoes in the walls/doors/ceiling/anything for ventilation. I've got an oscillating fan in the closet, but that's not going to do any cooling. This really restricts my lighting options, because so far I haven't been able to have anything more than a single 26w CFL running in there, and even then the temp usually hovers at around 86F. Would T5 or even regular fluoros be a better option? Do they produce less heat?

  2. t5's produce more heat than a regular fluoro. I'm pretty sure cfl's are around the same heat as a regular fluoro too.

How about take the closet door off and hang some black plastic. Cut some holes and hang some fans. If you can't keep the temp down with just one 26w cfl then you shouldn't grow inside.
