I couldn't sleep. So I went out and took some pictures.

These Tuk-Tuks are really loud. And the deafening noise makes it feel even faster.

I used to ride these when I was a kid... with five other friends, packed at the back...

I wonder if James Bond ever rode one of these in his movies... I'm sure he did...

Enough of these noisy Tuk-Tuks. This kis 'Kao Sarn' Road. The capital of backpackers from all over the world.

The capital of 'poor' backpackers, I must add. The tourists here are really low on budget. The room rate here is 10 bucks a night, the cheapest anywhere around the region.

But that's the fun of it. Being poor... hungry and thirsty... always calculating in the mind, 'can I afford this beer?'

But for those who have enough money in their bank account, can endulge themselves in shopping... for all the things you'll never use once you return to your home country. One of them being neon colored shoes.

It might seem like a cool idea at the time, but once you put them on your feet, they make you look like you just walked out of a flooded nuclear reactor.

But not everything is useless in Kao Sarn shopping center... I really wanted to buy one of the Bob Marley banner but I wasn't sure where I could hang it...

And the thoughts of an empty house came to my mind and I thought it was time for a drink.

So I looked for a place to sit down and have a beer, and I found this guy playing some fine guitar... he was playing a very cheezy western song, but his guitar still sounded very mellow...

I stood there and listened... it took my mind away from my worries...

Then they finished their song.. and I thought about ordering a beer, and then I realized I didn't have any money because I left the house in pajamas.

Yes... I was walking around in my pajamas... stoned, of course...

In a stoned state of mind, I had forgotten to change my clothes before leaving the house.

    And then I had remembered.

Right. I was trying to sleep before all this...

And suddenly I felt sleepy... good... now may be I'll get some sleep... but damn... my house is 30 miles away...

I should go home now... wherever that is.

    And then I left.

I see a FFM threesome ahead!
    What a lucky guy...

And I see a MFM ahead!
    What a lucky girl...

    :smoke:

  4. Yup. Bangkok Thailand... The land of smile... and fake Armani...

  5. I wish I was able to make it there BEFORE I was married. I had a lot of buddies go there on vacation when I worked over seas. Loved it was the general opinion.

  6. Married couples come here also... it's not just the single and the lost who come here...

  7. I left the house, not in a hurry, but I somehow forgot to change my pants. I was wearing pajama shorts when I left the room.

But on top, I was wearing a shirt... the kind you would wear with a tie...

'It appears I've forgotten to change my pants...'

    I said to myself.

'Never mind. This is Thailand. Anything goes. May be they'll think I just forgot to change my pants, that's all.'

    I wispered in low voice.

And I fooled myself I was wearing decent pants, and walked around the city taking pictures of this... pictures of that...

Luckily I had an ipod with me, so I could listen to my favorite songs while embarrassing myself in front of an international crowd at Kao Sarn Road...

While looking for things to shoot, my mind was else where. I don't really know where it was, but it was definitely not here.

Coz if it was here, I wouldn't be able to walk around taking pictures of screaming Tuk-Tuks because I'd be embarrassed and gone home. I wouldn't even be here in the first place.

But, tonight isn't just any nitght...

It's the first night of my divorce.

Got to do something special, right?

  8. I walked around aimlessly... looking at this... looking at that...

And then I came to a bar... where they had live music.

Two dudes were on their guitars, singing very cheezy western songs.

    "County roa~~ Take me home~~ To the pace~~ I belong~~ Wes Vagina..."

Their accent wasn't perfect, but they were pretty OK.

And the guy on stratocaster, he was sounding pretty mellow...

A little stiff, but that's OK... he's just doing his thing.

I took some photos of the dudes, and as a good will gesture, I wanted to at least buy a beer from their pub so I tried to find a place to sit, and then I remembered I didn't have any money coz I forgot to change my pants and I was still wearing my pajamas.

So I just looked at them apologetically and left the scene.

  9. You must have a really nice camera GG.
    I wish I had a nice camera.

    beautiful!!!

  10. the pics are taken with nikon d60, it's the cheapest nikon you can buy. The lens used was nikor 28-105 mm, manual focus.

Not the easiest of lens but once you get dialed in, you get the hang of it.

    Thanks for the compliment. :)

  11. This is quite legit sir. How long've you been living in Thailand? Or are you Thai?

  12. Some pictures of prostiturtes please, lol. Seriously though thanks for the pictures, a slice of another life.

  13. Love the pics! I am thinking about a trip to Thailand next summer, and I would totally buy a pair of those shoes.

  14. (Someone asked me if I was Thai...) I'm not, but I've been living here for 25 yrs.

And having been here for so long, it is easy for me to forget how beautiful this place really is.

That's why I love my camera... It constantly makes me search for new and hidden beauties of this place.
