I am so surprised that nearly no one mentions Copenhagen on this site. There is a small community in the city center called Christiana where you can literally go up to a stand and buy as much weed and hash as you want! I just got back from a weekend trip there and it was friggin awesome!

I'm going to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks, which I'm sure will also be fun as hell, but I just wanted to give this place a little exposure. Most of the people speak English and although I was only there for a little while, it seems like the nightlife would be fun too! (They host Sensations there every year)

Not to mention, compared to most other places in Europe, things are pretty damn cheap there. I bought a liter (yes a liter) of beer for around 5 Euro. And, there are no open container laws!

Anyone else ever been to Christiana?

  2. Heard about it from Weeds. Im also surprised no one brings it up on here.

  3. Yea its pretty cool. Its actually not a part of the EU. There are signs that say "You are now leaving the EU" before you enter. There are rules, like you can't take pictures and there is no running (lol they say it causes panic) but there has never been an instance of crime there.

  4. might have to check this place out. No worries, Smokey only runs if he has to :smoking:
and weeds legal there? I'll be taking a seat.

  5. I've been to Copenhagen but it was years before I ever smoked or drank so I'm sure it would be a completely different experience now.

  6. I'm pretty sure it is part of EU. It seems like a lot of hipsters and druggies would live in Christiana but I thought they demolished the place

  7. No its not. Or else, how could they just legalize weed like that? It was pretty organized, not any hard drugs that I could see. In fact, the guy I was with is Swedish and he told me not to ask for hard stuff...its a no no.

The only sketchy thing is that some of the drug dealers had scarves around their faces, but I'm pretty sure that's because it was really cold out lol.

It's still part of the EU because it's legally part of Denmark. The police just tolerate it (probably because it's the second biggest tourist attraction in Copenhagen :))

I absolutely love Christiania. Nothing like strolling in off the streets, buying a bigass joint, then walking 50 feet and smoking it in a treehouse in a lakeside park.

But I can't believe you thought things were cheap there. The way I remember it, everything aside from hash and beer was crazy expensive!

  9. I prefer Copenhagen to Amsterdam. I wish I was able to go this year.

  10. Well I'm doing a semester in Dublin, probably the most expensive place I have been in Europe (I've been to Berlin, Barcelona, Copenhagen and Malmo in Sweden). Its probably expensive compared to America, but for Europe it wasn't bad at all

    Yes i live in copenhagen

you can take the metro from the airport, straight to christianshavn station

then you can ask anybody where christiania is, its about 5 minutes from the station

rules are, dont do hard drugs, dont steal anything, dont try to sell any weed yourself, dont take pictures of the stands or dealers

the rest i just be a chill guy

you can basically buy any strain of weed, and any type of hash, there are about 15 stands they also got they own baker, their own healthy food store, cafees, a place where there is a little concert stand, and a bar with pool tables, you can buy drinks and beer there, there is another similar one, the moonfisher, where the more hippie type hang out

there is also alot of nature you can walk around in

feel free to ask me anything about it, ive been going there since i was young :)

  12. Definitely go to Copenhagen and visit Christiana.

I was there about 12 years ago. Copenhagan is the friendliest city I've ever been to, the Danes are just super-nice people. Christiana was interesting, a few too many crazies running around loose (the day I was there), but still fun for a day trip. I did not smoke in Christiana - I bought a couple of joints to bring back to the hotel, but when I tried to smoke them I found that there was tobacco mixed in, so I flushed them. I probably should have asked for pure weed, or hash. At least it didn't cost much.

I enjoyed the cultural aspects and coffee shops of Amsterdam, but Copenhagen is beautiful and really special as well.

  13. I know some people that have been there a couple times, three of them got strip searched on a train back to their home country. But other than that i've heard Christiana is pretty awesome

  14. Might be going to Christiania this weekend, what are weed prices like?

  15. about 15-20 dollars for good weed

    about 15-20 for good hash

6-7 dollars for a pint of beer

about 3 dollars for a cake, a normal one, im pretty sure they dont sell special ones, atleast not in the stands, im not sure though

2 bucks for a cup of coffee

    4-6 dollars for a falafel

  16. They sell special cookies at some of the stands. If I recall correctly it was 40 kroner (~$7) each or 3 for 100 kroner (~$17).

Only a few stands have them, and not all the time. One that almost always had them was on the corner next to the bakery, if anyone is going there soon and wants edibles. I had a fairly high tolerance when I was there and one cookie was enough to get me really high, two would send me to another planet, and three was a little excessive even by pothead standards.

I think there's a stand that also occasionally has special cupcakes but I heard they weren't worth it, never tried them though so I can't speak to that.

  17. Hey I know this may seem like a dumb question, but this this place open on the weekend? I'm here right now and probably can't get over to there till Sunday and know loads are closed in Copenhagen on Sunday. I wanna buy some weed but dunno if they just chill and have a day off on Sundays? Can someone let me know, as I'm on here for this weekend. Thanks!!!

  18. open 24/7, 7 days a week, maybe not all the the shops like bakers etc, but weed etc, any time

  19. Added to bucket list: Visit Christiana.

  20. is it legal there?
