So guys I've had some issues with my vacuum. It will not go passed -26hg no matter what i do. using a 3cfm pump and a 3gal chamber. I contacted the company and he said maybe the gauge got bumped during shipping making it read a bit off so he sent a new gauge, i installed it and now i won't go passed 25.5hg? Does anybody know what may be causing this? if i turn the pump off it holds a stable for for over 24hours, which makes me think its not a leak. Anybody have any ideas? thanks!
go through all connections and reapply teflon tape, tighten everything snug and put a hose clamp on anything thats not threaded. how many microns is your pump rated?
so like a hose clamp on the hose on the pump and on the chamber lid where the hose connects?? and how do i tell how many microns the pump is rated for?
anything that isnt threaded, so if you hose is connected to your pump and chamber with only hose barbs, I would suggest you put hose clamps on them. just find your pumps specs, you'll find it
well i went and got some teflon tape, applied it to everything, tightened everything up nice, put hose clamps on and still will not go passed 26hg ahhh this is bugging me so much now. i don't know what else to do?
turns out the company thinks it is the pump that isn't working up to par, as they test the chamber and everything to 29hh but they don't test the pump before they ship it out because it is very rare for a pump to malfunction. (so they say) They are going to be shipping me out a new pump and hopefully this solves my issue.
