cannibutter mold?!

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by ImPakelika, Apr 5, 2010.

  1. well, a few weeks ago I cooked up a primo batch of cannibutter, I made an excessive amount and after sitting in the refridgerator for a couple of weeks I noticed a small bit of mold growing on my wonderful butter! oh no! My question is, if I were to remove the infested area of butter, and reheat the butter if it will still be salvageable? Also anyone have any good suggestions on later storage to prevent this from happening again. All feedback would be wonderful!

  2. I'd say if it's a SMALL AMOUNT of mold remove the mold and a little bit of excess butter that was around the mold. I'd persoanlly heat it up again just to make sure i kill any existing molds spores.

  3. yes, thats exactly what i did. After doing that lastnight acculy I think it can be salvaged. Currently Ive got it frozen to prevent further growth of any bacteria. Once I bake with it any live spores should be heated hot enough to kill. Anyone elese have this problem? More feedback would be great.

  4. bump: anyone feel this is safe to use?
