Am I the only one that find laugh tracks on tv show disturbing? I HATE LAUGH TRACKS! Making people believe something is funny when it is not!
If you actually listen beyond the laughter (what they want you to hear) it sounds like bacon frying ? (good example....Listen to "All in the Family")
I have a recording of a laugh track on my phone which I play immediately after I tell a joke. It works great.
Any of you ever seen Sports Night? It was written by Aaron Sorkin. A GREAT show. but the first couple of episodes had a crappy laugh track, then they got rid of the laugh track and the show got mad serious. then it was canceled.

The purpose of canned laughter is not only to dictate what is and isn't funny. People have become so complacent and apathetic, people need it to laugh for them.

haha agreed man. i cant tell u how many shows laugh tracks have ruined for me but on seinfeld it just seems to fit because everybody in the room is usually laughing anyway haha.
