Cannabutter results

  1. Hi all.  New to this forum, new to cooking with cannibus.  I just made my first batch of cannabutter.  I started out with 1 pound of butter and a little over an oz. of bud.  after cooking in crock pot and refigerating, I now have about 10 oz of cannabutter.  That means I lost 6 oz of butter somewhere.  Is this about right?  Did I just lose water weight?  Or did I screw up?

  2. Did you decarb your bud @ 220 wraped in a foil pouch for 20-25 min,before you made your butter? If you did this first you did not screw up. The Bud does absorb a lot of butter oil. We use a potato ricer to squeeze all the goodness out.

Thanks...potato ricer huh?.  I did not decarb.  At this point pretty glad I didn't...first use of the butter was just a little spread on half slice of bread with jelly.  Just to see if I would feel anything.  About 2 hours later I was was on my butt and in no hurry to get up.  Pain way better, stress way down, anxiety less, but was too much head high to ever think I could function in a work kind of way.  OK for night time as I slept best sleep I've had in a long time.  So I guess I'd better start doing more research on the strains I need.  Trying to find a high CBD, low THC strain, but not having much luck locally.
