Cannabis use in IBS

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by gidoc, Jan 27, 2010.

  1. To all patients with IBS that use cannabis/marijuana!

    Dear Patient,
reports from patients suggest that use of cannabis/marijuana reduces symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). In order to bring this to a scientific level more detailed information from patients is needed.
We are conducting a study that is assessing the use, the benefits and the side effects of cannabis/marijuana for the self-treatment of IBS. This questionnaire is directed to all patients with IBS that use cannabis/marijuana for their IBS.
We are asking you to complete the internet based questionnaire. Please make sure that you respond to all questions which may take you approximately 10 minutes.
This research study has been approved by the University of Calgary, Canada, Conjoint Health Research Ethics Board. You are under no obligation to complete this questionnaire. Your responses to this questionnaire will be kept strictly anonymous.
Thank you for taking the time to read this material and fully respond to the questionnaire.
If you have any questions, please contact the administrator for this study: Cannabis_use_in_IBS@gmx.com

just finished the survey. will you post any results when finished?

  3. Wow I was basically just diagnosed with IBS today... trippy.

My doctor suggested it's probably IBS, but if it worsens soon it could possibly be worse. She said to keep a journal type thing about my symptoms, what I eat, etc. for three weeks. Whatever this ends up being diagnosed as in the end... cannabis fucking works. More than half the days I go mostly sober through is "shitty" (you guys know what I mean).

  4. Just filled it out, thanks.

Wow this is fantastic, I definitely notice when I smoke that my flare ups are definitely way less sporadic.

Thanks a lot man, filled it out and submitted. There has been nothing better at treating and preventing possible IBS flare ups for me than Cannabis, the medication I was prescriped worked well but the side effects were to great of a negative for me. Throughout High School I had to live with the embarrassment and what not, missed a ton of school because there were days where I just couldn't leave my house..very hard on me emotionally and mentally.

  6. just did the survey. I'm gonna post this link in the Crohn's thread.
