I have been reading/hearing alot about cannabis causing anxiety/depression....I don't really see how these two connect. Can anyone explain? And people say you can develop scizrephrenia. But EVERYbody smokes anyways.

what are the pros/cons of smoking? I can't think of much.

    Pros:
    Fun
    Feel good
    Helps bring people together

    Cons:
    Money
People say "health effects, lung effects, anxiety/depression

Can anyone else help me out?

  2. It can make people unmotivated.

  3. Schizophrenia won't occur from smoking weed, however if you are already predisposed to having it getting high can make it onset faster. Other than that the only downside I see is the price, can't wait to live in Colorado though. Only one more month :DSent from my HTC6435LVW using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  4. A lot of your cons could also be pros. I'm not sure where I stand in terms of the anxiety/depression argument. Really I think it can go either way.

    Cons: Indolence, apathy, lethargy

  5. How can money and the supposed health effects be a pro?

  6. I think it can only causes schizophrenia if you are predisposed to it.

    Cons: Munchies and cottonmouth.

Well I more so meant the anxiety/depression. For some it's good, for others it can make it worse.

  8. Cannabis is my medication of choice for both anxiety and depression. Same with a lot of my friend.

  9. Pros- Cannabis is a versatile medicine, doesn't have to be smoked to get the effects. Also has atleast 2 medicines in 1, THC and CBD, one of which is non psychoactive, both of which can be very effective. Cannabis also tastes great.

Cons- Smoking is detrimental to human health. Some people suffer from negative effects of THC, anxiety, paranoia, lethargy, demotivation. In most states marijuana is illegal, which mean it can catch people some charges

  10. Another con is that its illegal in most places

  11. Bob Marley.

  12. anxiety and depression is a tricky subject.

for certain conditions such as ptsd, cannabis has been proven to be effective.
mj most certainly relieves depression. you honestly don't need a study a for that. if you feel depressed at least if you smoke you might feel paranoid and anxious but you'll be ready to tell stupid jokes to homeless people. (not a symptom of depression).

paranoia and other side-effects are quite minimal as opposed to "suicide" in many anti-depressants.

is it completely harmless? ... no. it is not.
just like any other substance (coffee, sugar, porn, fats) it can be abused.

mj is much safer, however than most other substances out there that can give you some sort of benefit vs risk ratio.

  13. Only con for me is tolerance and some coughing :)

  14. Google Granny's MMJ list July 2013 (should be the most recent one). Here's a link to the site.
