    Just a rant that I'm going to go on.
    I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer which is cancer in the uterus lining. I got it removed and thankfully have been (as far as I know) cancer free. However, I smoke to prevent the spread of cancer since the doctors cannot be 100% sure it's completely gone.
    Anyways, lately I've been getting pains in the same area as my surgery so I went to my doctor. He completely belittled my knowledge of my cancer, medical marijuana and my body. He told me that I was incredibly stupid to believe that marijuana helps and all that.

    He told me to start taking medication for paranoia. I had to take medicine after medicine when I was sick and I refuse to take basically anything anymore. I will rarely even take a pain reliever.

    Just my rant. Cancer sucks. Doctors suck. Everything sucks.

  2. man, i wouldnt wish that on anyone, sorry to hear that. why would he prescribe you medicine for paranoia though? i would listen to the doctors recommendation on what medicine to be taking in that situation. just my .02

  3. Man, that sucks so hard. Good on you for coming through it thus far.

    I'm usually one to say that the doctor knows best, but to replace a natural herb that above all else give you peace of mind with more corporate poison pharmaceuticals is ridiculous. Maybe it's time to get a new doctor; one with a little bedside manner at the very least.

    Wishing you the best into the future. Cancer is fucking terrifying to me. You're a champ, for sure.

  4. I don't recall the exact name but I know it was an anti psychosis medication, which is one reason I am so against it. He wanted me to start at 15mg (which I think is a large dosage). I am going to get a second opinion. I do respect his authority but, still.

    Thank you! :) But yes, I am going to go to a larger town and find a doctor there that may be able to help more. That was the point I made to him; anti-psychosis medications have a huge number of side effects, if I am already freaking out over a pain, I can't imagine what I will be like if there are side effects.

  5. Your doctor doesn't sound like he knows much about cannabis

    it can cause induced apoptosis and reduce the size of tumour cells for certain types of cancer

    but obviously smoking anything isn't good for your lungs on the other hand

    Good job though for being strong and winning... with such a huge fucking illness (40% of people will get cancer in their life time) I can't believe the world is more interested in power and who can make the most impressive country. all these bombs and all that shit they're building over in Dubai should be funding cancer research. Doesn't it just seem odd how cancer is such a huge problem, yet the funding for its research isn't nearly as much as what's being spent on wars and things.

    And space... why the fuck are we not working together as one planet to explore beyond the earth??

    This world confuses me and it feels upside down

  6.
    It's gonna take a long time before the docs really embrace cannabis. Cancer sucks. Life's too short.

    Your doctor should know that pain is subjective. That means, when you're in pain, the only person who knows what works for it is YOU, the person experiencing the pain. The medicinal benefits of cannabis are just swept under the rug because big pharm endorses your doc and they haven't been able to reproduce the efficacy of pot. Sucks to be them. They haven't even been able to find ANY relation between cannabis smoke and lung cancer. Because *insert shock and awe face* the opposite seems to be happening. Cannabis users' cells appear to be BETTER at fighting cancer. Why? We don't know because the government only lets one man research it and his job is to make a pill they can patent to sell through big pharm.

    Personally, I think the cancer-fighting agents are generated in the brain from the state of euphoria cannabis causes. But, that's my hypothesis. The brain is a powerful thing (it's why my grandmother's aorta exploded after worrying too much). If cannabis causes the brain to enter a state of euphoria, and the brain releases endorphins (that are proven to improve the immune system, which fights cancer), then it can be said cannabis fights cancer. But, that's just my two cents.

    Not all doctors are created equally. But, I'm not on big pharm's payroll and I'm not afraid to say, "I just don't know." Also, IDK does NOT equal NO. That's why I love science. I can say, "I don't know, but I would like to."

    Anyway, I'm really happy that your cancer was removed [sic]. If cannabis makes you feel better, go for it.

  7. cancer = money
    weed = no cancer
    pills = big pharma
    weed = no pills
    paper = money
    weed = paper
    timber = forest death

  8. a doctor denying cannabis uses is like a scientist denying their inner agnosticism.

  9. Stopping by to wish you the best! Prayers go out that none of the shit comes back. Toke up!!!

  10. Thank you!! :)

    Good luck. Chin up, you're winning the battle since your still with us!

    Coming from the medical community I get some slack for my stance on mmj (obviously pro) and big pharm (very very against). I apologize for having to deal with an ignorant doc, their not all bad tho :)

  12. Best wishes to you!!! I will beam you a heavy dose of love and good vibes - and tell that doctor to go fuck him/her self.

  13. Thank you For all your kind wishes!!! :) I have an appt with another doctor that leans towards holistic medicine so hopefully he will be a better suit :)

  15. I wish the best to you dude.

    Just please don't take for  granted that marijuana will keep you cancer free. Yes, there are studies that suggest marijuana may decrease tumor size. But the jury is still absolutely out on how aggressive the affects of marijuana will be against cancer, and what sort of success rate it might have. I'm not saying don't use it. Use it, absolutely, both for pain and piece of mind. I'm just really hoping it won't lull you into a false sense of security and cause you to not get your check ups like you should, to ensure you're still in remission.

    But doctors overall, I don't really trust them. Too many of them push pills aggressively when it's not necessarily the best treatment for the ailment in question. Last time I went to the doctor it was for a severe cough and difficulty breathing. I had Bronchitis. The doctor said Bronchitis was almost always viral. He tried to give me antibiotics anyway. Dumbass. What the fool should have done is told me to get some cough syrup, and stay in bed for a couple days. Antibiotics don't do shit for viruses.

    Hon, I don't have much on endometrial cancer, just two studies, and a couple of "fluff" news articles- wish I had more for you!

    Take your Omega 3! Low levels of Omega 3, combined with high levels of Omega 6, as found in the typical American diet, are a set-up for cancers!  (I don't have a huge bunch of studies for Omega 3 like I do for cannabis, just a few, but they are enough to tell the story)

    Decreased n-6/n-3 fatty acid ratio reduces the invasive potential of human lung cancer cells by downregulation of cell adhesion/invasion-related genes. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15661810

    (I'm putting this last one in just for the guys- the omega 3 to 6 ratio affects them, too!)
    Omega-3 Fatty Acids Reduce Risk Of Advanced Prostate Cancer http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/03/090324131444.htm

    Omega 3 is needed to make the CB receptors that cannabis uses to fight cancer! These dudes were just looking at the mental effects, but if a lack of Omega 3 creates defective receptors in your brain, it is a pretty darn sure bet it does the same in your body!

    Nutritional omega-3 deficiency abolishes endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal functions.    (abst – 2011)           http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21278728     (n-3 = Omega 3)

    "In n-3-deficient mice, presynaptic cannabinoid CB(1) receptors (CB(1)Rs) normally responding to endocannabinoids were uncoupled from their effector G(i/o) proteins."

    Like a speaker with a loose wire, the defective receptors can't deliver the cannabinoid's message of "DIE, NOW!" into the cancer cells! And so, the cancer grows unchecked! By taking Omega 3 daily, you ensure that all those little CB receptors get hooked up properly to their G i/o effector proteins! More working CB1 receptors for cannabis to activate is a GOOD thing! (The CB1s are also responsible for the THC high- so having more working receptors should improve the quality of your high! :smoke: )

    The balance between Omega 3 and Omega 6 is far more important than most folks realize. Our average American diet is very heavy on the Omega 6, and deficient in Omega 3.  Omega 6 is pro-inflammatory, while Omega 3 is anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is linked to several cancers.

    Also natural vitamin E (D alpha tocopherol- not the DL synthetic) can help keep the levels of Omega 3 up where they should be.

    Vitamin E deficiency decreases long-chain PUFA in zebrafish (Danio rerio).
