I'm dedicating this Grow Journal to my good friend and fellow activist Ziggy who is a stage 3 lung cancer patient who's in remission thanks to the healing power of MMJ. Unfortunately he can't afford Hemp Oil/RSO, nor do we live in a medical state. I find it personally insulting that the growers he gets his weed from, charges him the same price as a normal customer when Ziggy has only been given a year and a half left to live. Therefore I pledged to him and any other cancer patient to provide their first 60gram dose of RSO for free. It takes 1 pound of good quality bud to make RSO (Rick Simpsons Oil).
My organic soil I just got yesterday from a local organic's farm that uses "8 manures that are aged up to 10 years, rock phosphate, colloidal clay, leaf mold, non-GMO veggie compost and my own bio-preps and Rudolph Steiner's 500-507. Using so many sources results in a full mineral and vitamin spectrum. We have masses of earth worms that come in with the manure and multiply." I transplanted 12 ACID plants into 3 gal pots under a static 1000w Hortilux Super HPS. I hope to buy a 6ft light mover within the next month. My goal is to average 5.5 - 6 oz's per plant and harvest 4 plants every 2 weeks after the first 12 plants have flowered.
good luck man! i will be following and helping out! please get some pics up at some point. make sure you dont over water! most time plants will grow slow and droop becuase of too wet soil! cannabis like dry soil
Thanks for the tip! Need all the help I can get since I'm going purely organic soil and I've only grown with hydro before!
Had to raise my light, caught early signs of light burn and my temp was 78, now it's 75 and everything looks to be progressing nicely
Hey I really like the organization, and the principals behind why you are growing. Subbin, i wanna see how this turns out!
Thanks brother!! Once I learned the truth about everything MMJ and hemp oil can treat/cure. Changed everything!!
what else you got growing? basil? your fan looks like a turbo haha cannabis likes less water than basil
I've got sweet basil that I'm growing for my wife, English Ivy, and a potato lol. I am trying to balance out my watering times. I've read that you should keep the compost mix moist correct?
ehh moist yeah, but its hard for me. i just let the half top of the soil get really dry, and then water a bit of water. my solo cup containers take about 1-2 ounces when they are dry. this way (when factoring the heat from my lights, the fan blowing, humidity etc.) i have to water every sun cycle. im sure you can soak them more, but i dont know which is more effective. i do know youre not supposed to just spray the top layer of soil with a sprayer, thats only for sprouting. this will not encourage deep roots
I'd like to get self wicking pots later on down the line. I use the finger test, then lightly water if needed.
Did some more work in the grow area today!! Added 8 more pots (empty for now) but just seeing where everything is going to be setup once I start the rotation!
how do you keep the rockwool moist? I have never used it but I imagine it loses moisture from the surface really easily? just curious. thanx
You're right, it does dry out quickly under my light so I put a "mulch" topping on it. I don't like rock wool, this is the first time I've used them because my wife got them for me. I normally use Sun Leaves Starter Plugs, which are composted tree bark, I am going back to those. I can just let the plugs compost into my mix when the plant breaks them open.
