Can you use a topped branch for a clone?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by col forbin, Sep 4, 2009.

  1. I was looking to cut some clones, but as far as the older growth, the only thing I can take off my Blue Cheese plant is a branch that has been topped. This is something ive been wondering for a while now: can I use this as a clone?

    Thanks!!:)

  2. Quick answer, yes.

You can root anything... even a leaf.

The top should be just as fine as a bottom branch.

  3. Just a second answer for you... "yes you can" ...healthier tops=healthier plants. VP

  4. Yep, I never worry when I am bending my tops anymore, I broke off two young colas and rooted both and got nice little bushy plants.
They were just a few weeks into flower.
I mean, I'd rather not break them, but if it happens, at least I don't lose the cola, which brings me to people who "top" their plants, I think that means cut the tops off, if so, why not cut of the tops to keep the plant bushy and short with two or three large colas and then root the tops too?
