Hey guys, I'm just starting to germinate these seeds I have and then I'll be growing them in this hollowed out bureau to keep my growing discreet. However, the bureau isn't that big and I was thinking in like mid April so when the plants start to flower that I'll put them deep in my backyard because I have like 4 acres of land. I live in NY, and I was thinking this would work because by mid-april it'll be perfect outside for flowering because the daylight hours should be close to the 12-14 hours that the plant needs to get during flowering. Will this work or am I totally off here?
Yes and no. You can give your plants a head start by growing them indoors, but... The problem is that while the days may start out at 12/12 in April, by May they are probably closer to 16/8. This will switch your plants back to vegetative growth. Which, isn't necessarily a bad thing, just means you won't be able to harvest until the Fall. Good luck.
Well how long is the flowering stage in total? Because if it's only around a month I can probably set up a good time period to plant them outside so that they are getting 12-14 hours of daylight for that month and I can harvest by mid may or somewhere around there.
By the way here's a chart of the total hours of sunlight at different times of the year for where I live... Local Sunrise/Sunset Info - Daylight Graph And Chart
and how long does it take to get to the flowering stage? Sorry about all the questions, I'm brand new to this.
No, I'm asking how long will it take to reach the flowering stage? How long are all the stages leading up to it like vegatative and shit? I live in Brewster, NY if you want to try out the daylight thing.
Oh, sorry. You can veg for as little or as long as you want. Typically, indoors, people veg for anywhere between 1-2 months before flowering. But, technically you can flower from seed. You will just lose overall yield if you do. The longer you veg, the bigger the plant, the more yield. Good luck.
