Can you rescue a decarb at too low temp?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by leastunhappy, Jan 26, 2021.

  1. I'm decabing some hash by my usual method

    40 mins 240F
    Mix with lecithin and oil
    20 mins 220F

However, 20 mins into my first decarb, the temp was too low so i cranked it up for the remaining 20 mins, and it's got me thinking..

If you find yourself in this situation, 20 mins into a decarb and realize you're at too low temp, is it best to increase the temp beyond 240 for the last 20 mins (e.g 250F), or to correct the temperature to 240 and give it some more time? Is there a rhyme or reason why either way is better?

    Appreciate your input

  4. There are an infinite number of correct decarb time/temp combos.
    Here are some of them.

  5. At 250 F and higher your hash will be smoking and getting black tips.
    Go longer rather then hotter.
    220 F for 90 minutes
    YMMV

  7. Interesting chart. Often wondered about decarb time. Lower temp longer time better to avoid burning works for me.
