how far into flowering can i re-veg my plant i have two mango but would like to take one out and put into a veg chamber to take cuttings later on they are 18 days into flowering
Wrongggg^^^^ If your plant is already showing signs of sex, you run a risk of shocking it into a hermie. If it were me I would slowly switch it back to vegetation by ~1 Hr or 30 min each day. Tomorrow put it on 13/11 then 14/10 etc. etc. so its not an immediate abundance of light
He's not wrong. Just if you were to do it, it would be in a calm manner, to try and not shock the plant. He didn't say anything that he would switch it up straight 12/12 after vegging.
What does that mean do it in a calm manner? He going from 12/12 to (I'm assuming) 18/6...I recommended he do it in gradual increments of 30 min-1hr/day
<shrug> I've done it after 2.5 months. It is my understanding that though you can shock a female plant into creating male flowers, it doesn't change the genetics of the plant itself, merely the flowers. I also moved her directly from 12/12 to 18/6 and have revegged/reflowered her 3 times so far after flushing her chemicals. Submitted for your consideration, Tyg
Everyone is right so far....you CAN do it immediately with some risk or do it gradually...either way is possible but in the end it will still take time to re-veg.I tried this once and found re-veg time the same as cutting a clone and starting over.
He asked if he could reveg anytime. The answer is yes.Period. I've always revegged by sticking back to 24/0 light from 12/12,and never gotten a hermi. People over exagerate hermies. They think every little thing causes a fucking hermie.Yes it's possible, but I've interrupted my dark cycle plenty of times with no hermies for instance. Try having a clue before spouting off about whos wrong. Twit...
::Knock on wood:: It would really suck if your flowers started producing bananas though. Cuz then I would just Jean Claude VanDamme that plant in one swift motion:: Although I'm not taking anyone's sides on this matter, I still think it would be wise to take caution though.. Also, do you guys ever consider that if you revegg them, you would lose 2-3 weeks for the plant to adjust (And a few flushes that can be time consuming); and by then, I would already have a formidable size plant vegging by then with no risks what so ever. That's why even though it CAN be done, I simply wouldn't take that step. Hell, I would take a branch off that has a flower on it and clone that first instead of revegging it. Search threads, there's a few people that's done it.
Cloning a flowered branch although doable is a pain, and not reliable IMO. Revegging is done usually to save a really nice pheno. Most of the time you wont know how good each individual plant is untill 6 weeks into flower.
just to let you know people, it was successful. I took four cuttings of my flowering mango kept them under 12/12 for two weeks till they had roots then potted em, left em about another 1-2 weeks (they were making buds now) then put them under a 20w cfl 24/7 for about two weeks now they are starting to grow new leafs the bud just started to wilt and even though there are new leafs theres still a few hairs and crystals on em will put pics up if my camera is working
Some older plants which already developed a lot of resin don't reveg- they die off. If you cut off a flowering top + increase the light cycle, after about two weeks thin branches with 3 fingered leaves will grow. It is quite a mangling for the plant. Better cut off the main bud, and use a popcorn to develope some seeds.
