So apparently, you need an address to join Job Corps, but how does one join if they CLEARLY STATE that they accept the homeless and runaway youths? Can anyone explain this to me? Is it the same in each state?
I was looking for personal experience stories.:| When I asked the admissions counselor I couldn't get a direct answer. Not to mention everytime you try ask via e-mail, you get an automatic response that never properly replies to the question asked.
Get a post office box and see if that helps or talk to your local shelter to see if they would allow you to use their address. Good luck to you and don't forget they do drug tests I think if you fail one they put up on like 30 days probation with some restrictions such as not as much home time and the included drug school you will have to go to. If your local shelter allows you to get mail there mail yourself some mail to establish a address. Good luck.
Public computers/internet? I know of a library that allows homeless people to come in and use computers and stuff for free, any time.
For me. I'm not homeless, but I'm curious as to what my options would be if I were to become homeless anytime soon. Long story, but apparently you can learn a trade for free if you're elegible. It's a wonder as to why more impoverished people aren't considering the option. Huh?
why would you want to go to job corps.. i feel like thats for fucked up kids that really need some guidance in life! find yourself a labor job start from the bottom and learn a career from real life experience. career center can possible set you up with an entry level job. fuck getting shipped away to the middle of no where with no women. and even if they are there they are already too far gone
