can you blaze and then...goto work?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by rls1128, Mar 18, 2010.

  1. ive been smoking for A WHILE, on my days off pretty much all day, but the days i work i dont smoke til later on that night. now i love to get high and goto the movies, out to eat, hang out with friends in public, ect, but one thing ive NEVER EVER EVER done is blazed and then went to work.

ive worked in 5 restaurants in my working career, mainly as a server, but im currently a manager of a deli. and i am 100% serious when i say i have never come to work high. ONE time when on my break while working at chilis i took 2 bong hits, came back, and had the worst night of my life, so i dont even count that. i have just never liked the idea of getting high, driving to work, and then having to deal with customers that i depend on for my income. i for one am a really forgetful stoner and i cant imagine being high and trying to remember customer orders, how to use the computer system, ect. it would sketch me out beyond belief to be high at work, especially when i know some of the people i worked for didnt smoke and would totally freak out (aka fire me) if they ever found out i smoked before work.

so my question to grasscity is - do you guys find it easy to blaze and then goto work or are there some of you out there like me that save blazing for when you have nothing important or productive to do afterwards?

i think that waiting until you get home is good idea, considering you dont have to do shit when you get home. and unless you work at wendys flipping burgers, concentrating on orders might be difficult while blazed

however some people who, in everyday life tend to be focused more than the average person may fare better. Im a little ocd and if theres something to be done, and i blaze, i still get it done.
bud tends to motivate me more

although there have been times i have been known to forget what im doing, like i walk into the kitchen, and then turn around and go watch tv or something, then remember 2 and a half hours later, why im still hungry.

it also depends a lot on how much you smoke too. i recommend at most only a small bowl beforehand, and the day might go by a little faster. because after you wait you can completely cut loose.

risking unemployment now is just retarded.

  3. I usually smoke and then go into work. I work in the theme park business. dealing with money and food. its pretty easy to do faded. sometimes people can trip you out. If you can handle it go for it. But if you can't then don't. It is all good either way. Just get ready to pack a few fat bong bowls after you get out.

  4. I work a regular office job with regular hours for a global corporation with 30,000 employees. Everyday I wake up, share a bowl with the lady, shower, get dressed, have breakfast, smoke another and head to work.

I am a graphic designer and always do my best work in the first couple hours of the morning...

Good coffee + good herb makes my mornings so wonderful!

EDIT for disclaimer -- I have moderate to severe ADD, which is one reason I smoke. Those first few hours each day are definitely my most focused and productive. YMMV

  5. i can. and sometimes did. depending on the job.

when i was managing my own shop, i didnt very often. sometimes i would as i left for lunch, get some food, come back an hr later and its mostly worn off.

ive found if youre gonna smoke before work dont smoke enough to get super blazed. maybe a couple fat hits at the most. otherwise you get back to work, and then you get rushed or something, and since youre stoned you start messing up (happened to me a lot when we would get a rush right after lunch)

also i ended up cutting back majorly cuz its kind of a waste to be stoned at work. i dont have a whole lot of money to spend on bud and id like to be able to enjoy the time im spending high instead of work my ass off

  6. I used to be a bus boy at a pretty busy family restaurant, and I blazed all the time before work. It made work go by faster.. It didn't impair my work because being a dish bitch isn't tough. Then when I got promoted to cook, I blazed before work and it sucked because I kept fucking up the orders and going pretty slow.

  7. i used to get out of school at 130 and go to work around 3 so i would smoke with some friends after school and usually by the time i went to work i was good again. After a while i got a little more comfortable with it, but i never went to work totally high until my manager from a bagel store called one morning, mid session, to ask if i could come in for a few hours. It wasnt really too bad, if anything it was really just a high killer. Now my shifts always start at 6:30AM or earlier so im not really awake enough to bake before work, when i do though its nice i just stay in the back of the restaurant and go along with my usual routine.

  8. My last job I worked at a gym, and my best days I came in high. I really just wouldn't be happy working there sober, and also my shift flew on the mornings I smoked before work.

I filled in for the overnight guy for a whole week once, and the only reason I could do it was because I would go and smoke a blunt to myself every night at 3 a.m. when nobody in their right mind would work out.

I think it just depends on the stress level that your job produces. Typically the more responsibility you have at work > the less fun/more anxiety you have working while high.

  9. I usually just smoke before work if I have a short shift or something. If I have a long shift, then sometimes I'll go on a quick blunt ride on my lunch break. I work at a coffee shop, and it's fun making drinks high:)

  10. yea. i do way better if i'm high. days i'm dry i get way less done at work. most the jobs i've had i was able to smoke through out the day.

my fav was cleaning houses, i was only at a house for 2-4 hrs, then jumped in the car and burned one on the way to the next place. i do best cleaning while high, well i do even better while being a little drunk, ha. i never drank on the job though, just have while cleaning at home.

i'm looking for a new job right now. hopefully its relaxed like most the places i been at. but i'm kinda doubting it.

  11. I used to go in to work stoned everyday, and it was a customer service job in a large retail store so I was dealing with people constantly, dealing with coworkers constantly and bosses constantly. Nobody ever said anything about it, I didn't use eyedrops or even try to mask the smell *shrug*. I always did my job really well high and never had any problems so maybe they knew and just didn't care? Not sure :smoking:

I would even go home on breaks and lunches to smoke since I lived right down the street from the place, so I would literally clock in 5 minutes after smoking.

  12. First time i went into work blazed was a few years back. I had to work at 5pm and for some reason i thought it was a brilliant idea to try eating mary jane for the first time. I walked up to a nearby gas station and bought a twinkie.

At about 2pm I sprinkled about a half 1/8th ontop of the twinkie and gobbled it down really fast with a drink.

After a few hours I noticed nothing until about 6pm when i was making sandwhiches at my work. I kept having to check the tickets to see what I was making and i realized I was high.

I stepped off the line and told my friend "matt im getting high get on the line" and he responded with "holy shit your eyes are red.....alright i got it"

at this point i was freaking out because I had been written up before at work and didn't want to get in trouble again. I ended up going into the back to do dishes all night and was fine except every worker knew I was high as hell. One of my managers was even flicking water onto my face and laughing. I think she knew.

Overall, It was probably the worst experience I've ever had at work, but I go in the morning after blazing up hardcore all the time. I'm half high in the morning and I've gotten used to it, but would NOT recommend it for the beginner smoker.

  13. ... You sprinkled half an eighth on a twinkie and got really high like 4 hours later? I'm not even gonna touch this one, someone please do it for me.

  14. Sorry but theres no way you got high off that. you cant just sprinkle weed on food and eat it and get high, you have to cook it in THC saluable foods..

  15. sounds alot like my situation right now :smoking:

  16. I'll do it. THC can not be processed without being heated first. So unless you have some really hot breathe that heated the sprinkled weed up, you didn't get high.

  17. i wouldnt advise it. but if your job is common sense and straight forward with no stress/people to piss you off...by all means to do it. I WOULD but my job is CRAP!

  18. When I worked at fast food I blazed every morning before work. I can say I did a lot better those days than days I didn't. My bosses knew but they didn't really care. They would smile and just say "feeling good today, huh?" "yes ,ma'am!" :smoking:

  19. Save it for after work, feels like you earned a reward

Not worth it, your tolerance will get too high:p

  20. As funny as it sounds, my friend and I both started working as window washers on our high school summer break. Everyone was Spanish but us and they used to blaze us up every day. Being 40 ft high HIGH on a ladder is not took much fun. I stopped smoking on the job when a lady complained of me having an attitude with her. But I honestly didnt and thought the lady was a nut job and wanted a discounted service by calling my boss.

Now im in college and im going into the business world and smoking and working will never be for me again.
