Can we really see into the future?

Discussion in 'General' started by Derwin94, Jan 10, 2013.

  1. How is it that dreams last only 30 seconds when they seem to go the whole night?
When you wake up to the sound of a door slamming shut, in your dream you were probably falling. How does your brain know 30 seconds before? If we can't see into the future, who's to say fate doesn't exist? Hence why time is just an illusion, the universe is a never ending cycle, why bother measuring it?

What are your thoughts on this guys?

    inb4 OP is stoned.

  2. yeah no you're stoned

  3. hahaha.

    pass dat shit ova here!!

  4. Alright listen to this shit. I had a dream where I turned on my console and saw a friend's comment. The comment said "got two new games". So I wake up and turn on my ps3 and scroll through my list and see the same friend playing a new game. I asked him "you got a new game?" and he said "yea" "actually I got two" and I was convinced that it wasn't just a coincidence.

I'm not saying it was sixth sense or something special but I do believe there is something out there that makes us able to pick up shit....I don't know man but I kinda get what you mean. Dreams can last longer than that though like it would feel like 10 minutes or so but in reality it's shorter and bits and pieces. Dreams and the brain are some crazy shit.

  5. I've experienced the same phenomena. It truly is weird. Almost like deja-vu, but not quite. I'll never be able to explain it..

  6. This happened to me one time. I got high in my dreams, then the next day, I got high...

  7. mmmkay first response; I have deja vu ALL the time! and seocndly; ever had the exact same dream as someone else on the same night? not inspired by a movie or anything and having every single detail the same.

  8. You cant see into the future I dont think.

You can see into the past. You are looking back in time when you look out into space.

That light from those stars have been traveling through space for quite some time before your eye picks up the event occurring.

    :hello: Science is beautiful

  9. one time i was so high that i walked into my classroom and started putting on my seat belt.

  10. you cant see into the future cuz its not set in stone any little event could change it but then again what if you saw the future and tried to change it but that future was actually cause by all the things you did diffrently to try and change it......time is confusing

  11. Mmkay. Nope, can't say that I have.

  12. Well it happened to me and my sister, who lives a state away... crazy shit!

  13. DUDE that shit is beautiful. Man me and you REALLY would get along. I love science, philosophy, and psychology......We would just get baked and talk and talk and debate and bake :smoking:

  14. doobie doo doo

  15. I have dreams sometimes (actually very rarely) you ever have one where say you are like james bond and you are sneaking through some secret military complex with your PP7 and wrist watch laser, but then suddenly the bad guys see you and trip the alarm and right as the alarm goes off in the dream, your alarm goes off in real life, then you wake up... its weird huh, how did my brain know the alarm was about to go off... I guess this is kinda what you are talking about. I can't explain it

  16. Well we subconsciously aware of what time we set the alarm so after awhile you do "know" internally to wake up. Also you subconsciously hate the sound of the alarm so your body wakes itself up before! Crazy shit man.

  17. Oh shit, this discussion.

I'll make it really easy without convoluting my own ideas and just state the facts.

    Observation.

Wrap your mind around THAT shit.

  18. exactly why not why does "now" have to be any different for then or when? The ulti question is are we seeing the whole picture or are we like the native Americans unable to see Columbus and his ships simply because they did not know how to see them. Layers upon layers i have learned to embrace I don;t know and I don't understand. it's amazing the questions you can get away with asking when you are not afraid of embarrassment amazingly freeing!

  19. One time I was so seat belt that I classroomed into my walk and putted my starting on my high.

  20. I the past few years some mornings I wake up pick my phone up which is my alarm to check the clock and it would be a minute away from going this has happened atleast 20 times and my alarm is set on different times most days.

This has also helped when I haven't set my alarm properly I would wake up right on time.
