Hello again, I have some slight yellowing on the tips of the first true leaves and was wondering if it looks like nute burn. I places some banana peel in the bottom of my pot and was wondering if that may be the cause although all 3 of my other plants don't appear to have any sort of yellowing. I don't even think the roots could have grown down enough to reach it. Could it possibly be from water left on the tip? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
It hasn't seemed to progress past that. It appeared 2 days ago and I've since water to try to flush the soil a bit Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I'd say the nutes you are giving it has all the potassium it needs, a banana peel will just attract insects.
It's closer to the bottom of the pot, would you recommend trying to remove it? Don't want to disturb to babies too much Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
That's a pretty young plant to be giving nutrients. I'm sure someone will tell you different. Are you actually feeding it bottled nutes? It's in soil. It should be good to go for 45ish days without anything but water. And what's up with the banana leaf? Or is it a banana peel. Anything in soil that hasn't been composted will attract bugs and or mold.
Bigger issue now is the soil..I do not see perlite for drainage..Why does everyone think you feed a seedling Nutes anyway? Usually the starter leaves and potting soil will have enough..I only see 2 sets of true leaves..way to young for nutes imho.
I haven't given any nutes, when I water I still get run off. Should I repot with a better mix anyway to get more oxygen to the roots? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
My original post was to question whether the banana peel could be causing some type of nute burn Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
They're planted in straight organic soil, no nutrients have been. I came here to seek advice on what could be causing the yellowing tip. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my original post. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I don't think it's anything mate, every seedling I have started (which is only 4) has had some sort of discolouration to it - it's looking fine to be honest, leave her go for a little longer and then start feeding her nutes when she is a little bigger...
Thank you lol I'm sorry to cause so much confusion. I've been trying to follow all the advice I've seen on this forum so I wasn't planning on adding any type of bottled nutrients for a while. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
