  1. What is this purpling.. out side on multiple plant.
Here where I’m at it’s been 80s during the day and now lower than low 70s at night. Organic grow, 20 gallon smart fabric pots. Fox farm ocean forest. Roots organic dry amenities. No signs of calcium deficiency, or any other nutrient deficiency, no nut burn, deep green healthy Growth. Just never seen this before

  2. I don't know what it is.

I've seen it on my plants I've seen it on the guy I work for plants.

But we have no idea what it is? we've see it last year on 4 of his plants and we just cut the branch off cuz we didn't know what it was though??

The year before that we had 4 or five plants that had large amounts of this purple stuff on them and don't know what it is. We also cut those branches off.

I've left it grow out on my plants and nothing seem to happen. But I still don't know what it's is or from ???

  3. Sometimes I wonder if it's in the genetics in modern day new breeds and have saw it before but don't know either as it hasn't given me a problem though

  4. It's a good question I have no idea. As the author said of this thread he thought you know maybe it was something to do with ph and we had thought that too as well. And so we changed the pH this way and changed it that way and it didn't seem to make a difference it's still grew the purple stuff was still on the plants and it the one or so branches actually started to curl up some and it started traveling down the branch so that's why we had cut it off a couple of different plants I think I did last year the year before that I certainly did. I go out to the farm tomorrow and work on the farmers plants that I work for. And we'll see if there's any growing out there and I'll take pictures of it report back if I see any.

    Ok... good point.

But It happened to these plants in the hot summer outdoor grow at the guy I work for and also on one of my plants in my garden that year.

These pictures are from mid August 2021.

I had more pics but this site's a b**** for loading up on.

    20210818_093312_HDR.jpg 20210818_095926.jpg 20210818_122853_(1).jpg 20210818_122853_(1)_(1)_(1).jpg 20210818_122853_(1)_(1).jpg 20210821_091620.jpg 20210821_091817_HDR.jpg 20210821_091625.jpg

Also in my outside grow too that year

Also color changes can be do to nutrient deficiencies or abundance of as well. And are generally the reason for color change.

Although it's not to say cold isn't the a cause, cold can cause color change, it's not normally the culprit it's usually lack of light and or nutrient uptake or lockout.

I believe it's something different than a temperature change that's going on here

I've been growing a long time and that particular purple is showing in the colors on those plants is different than a pigment change in the chlorophyll of the plant. It's actually something growing upon it too.

Also the plants were kind of growing wanky too. where the purple stuff was growing on them also. The plants were Kind of like crinkling up and curling up and if I remember right they ended up coming out dry and crunchy too a little bit. Not sure what that's all about either.

  7. Are you using a fungicide? Or maybe something with copper? Just a thought. The leafs look very green, could be high N, but wouldn't that have caused the leaf tips to burn? I've had stalks turn purple from too much water.

I don't think that there is just one thing going on.

  9. I'm in Michigan... I don't know where the authors from?
I haven't seen anything on this particular thing that's going on really with this purple stuff. I haven't seen a whole lot of anything. I asked about it a couple of years ago to another group that I hang out with on a different cannabis forum and they had never seen it nor did anybody know anything about it.

This definitely is not the tobacco disease though. The tobacco disease don't look like this though. I've had a few plants it's had that tobacco disease. But this don't look nothing like that in fact tobacco disease really doesn't even bother to plant too much.

I've heard there's a couple of things that are affecting these plants now. But what I've read about them don't look like this. Maybe this is something new.?

But whatever's going here with this purple stuff it kind of cripples the plant in the area that it affects.

  10. It could be a virus or bacteria that a sucking/chewing insect carries. I'm a wood worker. We see discoloration in Boxelder caused from the Box elder bug that feeds on the tree's inner bark. We also see it in ambrosia maple again carried by the ambrosia beetle. That would be my guess.
