  1. is smokeing near your plant bad for it

i smoke near mine all the time it has 2 fans on thoe is it ok??

  2. Nah man don't do that. You'll scare the plants into not making any buds so you dont dig them up. If they see you smoking their cousin or something, they will want to avoid that future for them and so not grow buds. ;)

    ....:smoking:

  3. I'm sure some middle school kid has done his science fair project on this. I'm going to guess that smoking tobacco near the plants could be harmful to them, however smoking bud near them is proboly about as harmful as pouring a glass of water in the ocean if you catch my analogy.

  4. Don´t smoke tobacco near your ladies. Tobaco mosaic virus can infect other plants via tobacco smoke.

  5. NEVER smoke tobacco near your ladies. Ever.

  6. We'll considering that everyone keeps their plants well air rated, i doubt if any type of smoke will be any good for it. I doubt the odd puff would hurt it too much.

  7. thanks everyone for the info

    keep on tokin

  8. so ur saying it will do absolutly nothing? wont help them and wont hurt them?
coz if it's at all GOOD for them, just lemme know ;)

  9. anyone killed a plant by somking in the same room as it:smoking:

  10. lol i blowed all my joint smoke on my plant

  11. You'll find plenty of threads on this.

Is it good? No. Will it hurt it ?not really , but why do it.

  12. smoking anything creates carbon monoxide, which in turn is bad for plants as it suffocates them. Quite simply, try not to do it. If you have to, try to not allow the smoke to sit around your growroom for too long.

  13. That reason is BS.

But don´t smoke tobacco near your plants as they can be infected by tobacco mosaic virus, siad that already, but as usual on GC noone ever listens.

  14. Why is that BS? Oh I'm sorry, does smoking NOT create carbon monoxide? Or are all those smoke emulsions high in carbon monoxide that are coming off of car exhausts actually GOOD for plants? Explain to me how that's bs, please.

  15. OK at the risk of being very longwinded and tedious, but you did demand an answer in a rather aggressive manner - red corpuscles in your blood contain haemoglobin, this absorbs oxygen wonderfully and transports it to all the organs in your body. If you inhale CO, the haemoglobin is altered to carboxyhaemoglobin which cannot absorb and transport oxygen. So if you inhale CO you die.

Plants do NOT contain ANY haemoglobin, CO is NOT toxic to plants.

OK, that was indeed BS, based on the wrongful assumption that what is bad for mammals is bad for plants. Happy now??

  16. well i think that clears that subject
cheers spainishfly you never cease to amaze with your wisdom.

    keep on tokin n postin:smoking:

  17. very well said indeed:D

*Whipes sweat from forhead and makes a "whewhh" sound* :smoking:

  18. no doubt, but perhaps you have forgotten that high amounts of CO in the air detract from the higher amounts of co2 needed for plant's abilities to photosynthesis and thereby metabolize light. Thusly, high amounts of CO, while not harmful to plants directly, can indirectly effect the amount of co2 in the air thusly suffocating the plant of co2.

  19. No, as the proportion of CO2 in the air is only about 380 parts per million. It is diluted hugely by oxygen and nitrogen anyway. The CO just displaces some O2 and N2.

But I DO say not to smoke tobacco near your plants because of the possibility of transmitting tobacco mosaic virus - that is the main danger.

  20. nonetheless I still say it's probably not good to smoke in your grow room, whatever you're smoking.
