  1. Dose anyone know if ballasts lose wattage thru out the years? Im trying to find out wat is makeing my plants stretch in flower.i have 2 1000 one is bout a year old and the other 3.my last grow, one side came out dense and the other airy ,same strain. this time i have schedule on during the day and off at night to eliminate the light . new 1000 watt bulbs.

    anybody know about magnetic ballasts?

  2. Here are picks of the purple kush, right side table with the ballast thats 3yrs old. they look stretchy like my last grow.

  3. You might have answered you own question with one side coming out denser than the other.
With that 3 year old magnetic ballast you might be paying more for electricity than necessary. Might be time to step up to a digital ballast. Also check your bulbs for age.
I rotate my plants on a regular basis to get light into all areas.
    Cheers:D

  4. New baulbs and no light leaks this time. Do u know anyone with info on ballast. do they tend to give less wattage after years?

  5. no it shouldnt its the bulbs themselves that degrade if a ballast becomes disfunctional it will most likely not light up the bulb to begin with. also regarding airy buds. my last grow came out nice but i saw significant diffrence between the plants that were directly under the light compared to the stuff that was on the edge of the lights reach so rotating them will probably help more than a new ballast. good luck
