Can marijuana be prescribed for anxiety/depression?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by kwee, Oct 19, 2005.

  1. One of my friends has been depressed for several years. He also has an anxiety disorder and used to get frequent attacks. He was suicidal until he met his girlfriend and she helped him for a while but he became depressed and even worse. He was cutting and burning himself, he was an alcoholic and was running down a dangerous road. Eventually he discovered marijuana and he put a stop to his alcoholism and his anxiety attacks are almost non-existant after he started taking it recreationally. Marijuana seemed to have flipflopped his life around for the better.

I was wondering, would this be enough to be able to be prescribed medicinal marijuana?, so he doesn't have to keep going behind the law to retrieve it.
