Hey GC thanks for taking your time to view this thread. Is it possible to grow my clones in hydroton alone? I would sit the rock wool the clones are started in a one liter container filled with hydroton, and water just like soil? I plan on experimenting with it anyways reguardless because I don;t feel like going out and buying perlite/vermaculite. Do you you think cutting a V shape about two inches from the bottom would help my chances by creating a little pool of water/nutes for them to drink from? sorry for the scattered thoughts, haha wake an bake. thanks in advance. By aeration I mean a air pump. sorry for any confusion.
If you just water like soil, you're going to have to water 4-6 times daily, soaking the roots for a few minutes each time. You'd be better off getting a pump and a timer to do a drip feed system.
yeah, I didn't even think about doing a drip system, that would be great honestly take a lot of work out of the equation.
I agree with ohspyro...put it on a timer with a drip or flood a few times a day. I think if you used coco you could treat it as you described...just water it like soil with hydro nutes..that's how it works.
