Can I try a sample??

    I am a first time grower so I am not sure how to go about this but i'd like to snip off a little piece off one of the buds and bong rip it. I am going to harvest my grow in about 2 weeks so I figured this would be a good time to take a sample. Where on the plant should I take a sample from and how should I snip it? with siccors? off the top buds or lower buds? any suggestions would be great! thanks guys/gals!

    snip from the lower branches, an undeveloped one would be a nice to get a sample from, just use plain old scissors or pinch it off, than microwave method it, btw if you snip from the bottom this gives more energy to focus on development on the buds above, i took 4 samples from my plants, i got really messed up from my ak-48s

    Honestly, you would be better off waiting the 2 weeks. But if you must sample, take one of the SMALLER buds from the top of the plant with scissors. The sample wont be as potent as it would be in 2 weeks.

    You can dry it in an oven, at a temp lower than 200*F. Or in an empty pack a cigs with a napkin at the bottom. Or on a piece of cardboard ontop of your light fixt. (it will be a little harsh from drying it fast)

    thanks for the tips guys. what is the microwave method? how long should i put it in for to get it dry?

    well with the microwave method you do it by 2-5 second increments stop let it cool, than repeat until bud is dry, may be a little harsh but still works and gives you an idea

    sweeeet. im about to go give this a try. ill let you all know how it turned out. (im an outdoor grower btw)

    Hummm i woulnd't mic your bud, esp buds your growing!

    Get a pair of scissors and clean them with rubbing alcohol/water make sure there dry and rinsed well.

    Snip a bud off from one of the lower branches and see how it smokes. Maybe take a small bud, snip it in half (USE SCISSORS! DON'T HANDLE UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO!) and 1 half wet, and then dry the other oven wise. Smoke both see how they smoke. Curing will increase potency! GL! :D

    well...it was a success. i picked off enuf to pack a fat bowl and then microwaved it about 6 times....5 seconds each time. then i bong ripped the hella out of it now im pretty baaaked and not moving any time soon.. :smoking:

    lol kick ass, i did the same shit you did, i had a sample of AK-48, fucken destroyed off a tiny bud, i'm taking another sample this weekend

    a quick note to keep in mind:
    always do the rubbing alcohol clean on your snips when you are snipping into a growing plant, this is the easiest way for disease to enter your plant (any cuts with dirty instruments)
