    So i met this guy who was a friend of a friend, ive known him for about a week. (he is a mexican gang banger with tattoos of wherever hes from all across his face and teardrops and the 3 dots, the whole shabang) we bump into each other after i get my meds so  i have a canister in my hand. well hes with 6 guys and im trying to get out of that situation asap without simply turning and running at full speed. after some uneasy chit chat i get a knife pulled on me. my hand gets cut up and they steal my meds but i was okay. ]
     
    something doesnt feel right about telling the cops to go get my weed back or get justice for my stolen weed. at the same time i am cut but if i press charges i want to get him for assault AND theft so that fat fuck can get as much justice as possible. i have one cut on my palm thats like 40% of an inch and a bigger one (inch) on my thumb. 
     
    i live in california. please dont talk if you dont know anything

    If you have a medical card and purchased from a dispensary, possibly. Not sure how high of a priority that will be for the police, but I'm sure it's the same as if someone stole any other prescription medication.

    I'm not from Cali, but while you "may" be able to get him into a little trouble, you may find yourself in a whole lot more.  Not legally, but you really don't want gang members after your ass.  Be thankful all you got was a few cuts on your hand and call it a lesson learned.

    Ok so let's assume u call the police and report it. They'll most likely ask you how you know him and so on. Chances are even if police really don't give a shit about getting your weed back they most likely do wanna get this sob gangbanger off the street so let's assume they catch him and he's on probation (which taking into mind the way you described him he probably is) if he is he'll get a long fucking sentence and get fucked. ( he'll be charged with armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon not to mention possession of narcotics with possible intent to distribute). So now let's assume his "homies" want payback. Get yourself a cwp and a handgun and chances are they won't come around. This isn't gta there not going to knock off a military shipment to get equipment to track u down. They'll most likely rather just go about there day "crusin" and "being a man" and talking shit. Or if u really don't care u can leave it alone and maybe he'll come back to bully u but maybe he won't so my final answer is to just get a gun.
