  1. i've still got several barrels of soil mix that i planted in last year. they've just been sitting outside - can i re-use this soil or has it's nutrients been used up?

can i just add something to it, or should i just start new? how much of a difference would it make?

  2. i heard theirs no problem using old soil the roots give micro nutes to the new plants etc but i would add new soil to pep it up:)

  3. Yeah there's no issue. Some claim you shouldn't or that fresh soil is the maximum best.
Really though, roll in a bit of your ferts, some short acting some long acting and let the soil sit for a few weeks. The bacteria and fungus that feed your plants will begin to thrive on the stuff and the soil will be in great condition.

  4. There is no problem with already used (old) soil. Just throw from ferts/nutes in a few weeks before you plant.
