iv been germinating my seeds for 30 hours now. they have started to crack, but there is no white root coming from the shell yet. is it okay to plant now?
alexzz8 Wait for the tap root to emerge. I usually let the "tail" get about 1/8-3/16" before planting. GL chunk
I think, from replies to a similar question I asked, and from what I've read, that you would be fine planting now - but unless you have any particular reason for planting earlier, other than excitement, and wanting to get them planted already, there's no reason to, wait for the taproot first.
Both of the above are OK. One point, if there's no tap root after 30 hours, a bit more warmth next time might help. (Not necessarily, though, some germ in 12 hours and others can take 2-3 days.)
