Can I Move Males Away Instead Of Destroying Them?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Ir0nZionLion, Jun 29, 2014.

  1. Hey all, simple question here. I have a guerilla style grow going(my first grow) and im deciding whether I can just move the males away from the females instead of destroying them. Reason being mainly I know I can come up with something to do with the extra plants and im not planting anymore this season. It seems like it can work but im also thinking flying insects might be able to pollinate them anyway from further away. Any help would help, thanks.

  2. I would move them to a bubble hash bucket in an outdoor situation.

Indoor you could harvest pollen and do selective breeding by hand.

  3. of course you can move them, and dont worry about insects

    Thanks thats good to hear.

and yea the bubble hash sounds worth it!

  5. Move them downwind of the grow paying mind to the prevailing winds.

  6. can you tell me why you want to save them?

  7. What if you move them and Pollinate someone else's garden.
Play with males inside. If no room. Toss them.

  8. Take em at least a mile away

  9. Destroy them before you fuck someone else's grow like sgt said, that shits not cool.

  10. No need to save makes unless you are breeding. With this your first grow I wouldn't suggest you breeding and you should destroy all males. Why rush pollinating your or anyone else's plants. Males don't even produce enough THC to be worth saving.

You guys obviously didnt read its a gurrila grow, so worrying about pollinating someone elses plant where im growing is a rediculous suggestion. I could see if i was growing in a backyard with neighbors who were growing but to try and say something like this to me is a waste of time.

And as for what im going to with them anything from ttrying to make hash or even juice them or use for other culinary eperimentation. Theres no reason to kill something that isnt going to harm that I cant get a little use of I feel.

  12. You don't know if someone else has a guerrilla grow near by. Pollen can easily travel over 2 miles with a breeze. They won't produce hardly any hash and are a waste of water and time.

  13. Thank you for your opinion, but I would'nt plant in an area knowing other growesr are nearby (if your assuming I blindly picked my spot). Second im not trying to be some elitist marijuana grower, I love marijuana and want to experiment with it as much as I can. Id rather finish my hard work then execute it, thanks.

  14. You should just listen to these people telling you good advice, you might learn something.

  15. Don't bother. He'll figure it out when he starts finding a shit ton of seeds.

Dude worries about insects and not the wind lmao.

Move them to a completely different room where no pollen whatsoever can get to your ladies. Change your clothes and shower after handling them especially if they are pollinating. All it takes is on tiny grain of pollen to your buds and whammo...instant seed factory. Good luck!

EDIT: Just read the rest of the posts and OP i'll bet dollars to doughnuts that you get seeds.

  17. Thanks for the pro advice and criticism but my males are a safe distance on a different hillside theres no way the same winds will be able to cross the paths of these plants. I might not have ever grown before but I have common sense thank you. Next time you respond to my topic answer my actual question I dont need to hear your non sense. These forums are clearly full of elitist that never try anything new. And im actually done seeking your advices and will be enjoying my plants without this negativity.

I have no problem respecting a good opinion, but to tell me this is impossible thats a joke to say. Then to tell me im wasting my time  Its not your time so let me enjoy mine thanks.

  20. I've done it before when I wanted to get some more seeds, I just tossed all but one male then moved it plus one female to a new spot a couple km away and it all went fine, ended up with the 1 female getting pollinated and the rest remained seed-free. Good way to stock up on bulk seeds
