Yeah i know bro i feel a bit nervous about it but i dont know.. but then that breaks the thing people say about 1 gal per month in veg. I mean i been vegging for a month with 3 gal. But yeah the roots are there. And how painful can it be for the plants to be transplanted this early after the 12/12 switch . Summer.
I know its hard to say but if i put them into 5 gal buckets will it pay off? Or should i just let it be? . Summer.
Those bottom root? Yes they will, look at an air pot, that’s the whole point of those..... any root exposed to air and not constantly wet like DWC, will air prune
Air pruning only occurs when root tips come into contact with air. If the walls are a non-porous material (like plastic) then the roots have no airflow and will crowd the container. OP hasn't mentioned that he's using fabric/air pots so afaik that's not the case. The walls are plastic and the base is against the floor, there's no air exposure there. Plastic pots don't air prune, idk what to tell you mate. There's a reason I only use fabric pots now anyways
yes, the plant wont care that much, but it will be less stress on the grower if you transplant to a 5 gallon bag. Then when the roots poke through that, everybody will agree that is normal. If you don't and there is any little problem, you will suspect you should have transplanted when you could. otherwise, you can grow a tree in 3 gallons.
Ok maybe air prune was the wrong descriptive term, but if the pot is elevated properly, those roots should go almost woody like a stalk and go green. That’s more what I was referring to more so than actual air pruning.
Not a issue here. Let the soil dry up a bit hold the plant have somebody hit the pots so the soil loosens up Replant them. I have replanted a 20 gallon pot. And hurt my back in the process . lol You can let them ride in that container and have a successful grow . Lack of yield may happen. You in a 3 gallon pot the final height should only be 3 foot tall. If you vegged bigger then 1 foot then you will suffer the extra yield that plant could of pulled. Most you will pull is about 5 zips from a 3 gallon pot using soil there are exceptions im saying on average
One of my first plants went into a plastic pot like that. Once I realized my mistake, I put a 1/4” bit in my pistol drill and went bat shit crazy on the outside wall. Instant air pot.
Personally I would be careful and transplant to a bigger pot. Be careful and there might not even be stress but asap. Yes though you can make it to harvest but that's your choice Sent from my Moto E (4) using Grasscity Forum mobile app
